My 2006 Altis, Ellen

MashAllah a very nice ride indeed. It is indeed kept with care and loving hands. And loving the detailed walkthorugh too.

Sad to see this much water at your home though, hope not too much damage was caused though.

Just wanted to ask that which car cover do you use on your car??. Because i want a car cover for my car but im afraid it might cause scratches.

depending on where i park it i use two to three layers of car covers,
the first car cover is extremely soft underside and upper material is not parachute or anything its a special hydrophobic material that military uses, it beads water and you can dump a bucket of water right on the cover and all the water will bead and sheet off the car cover and the cover and the car underneath will remain fully dry,ill show a video of this, on top of this cover i put another cover thats also very soft and is the one visible above in overhead pictures, that is not fully waterproof however i use it as it stops the lower cover fluffing about in the wind and eliminating any chance of scratching and also keeps the more expensive cover underneath clean so it has a long life, the third layer of cover which i use on the jeep in addition to these car covers as it stand outdoors is some another material which is elastic and 90% waterproof,
with this arrangement all the cars even if they stand for two weeks outdoors will not have a speck of dust or water and also layering reduces sunlight penetration and as the lower most car cover which is in touch with paint will itself stay very clean it will not cause scratches from dirt while you are taking the cover off, also while taking the cover off the car if you fold it towards the centre in that at all times the outdoor side doesnt touch the paint you will not scratch it, if you are using a single cover then just clean the cover weekly,

using one car cover and like those at hyper star metro etc might cause some light swirls over a period of one to two years i have been thru that but even that if you wrong technique to put on and remove car cover and don't clean it but they offer very limited protection and whatever scratches a low quality car cover may induce they would easily be gone by a application of megs scratch x once a year, you'll probably have the same no of scratches from dusting or letting the dust sit if you don't use a car cover oh and always clean the car before putting on the cover sorry for such a long reply

guys what do you say, my parents are really trying to convince me to sell my ellen and get the new corolla gli or save up for the new altis but i absolutely refuse to do say due to affiliation and the fact that pound for pound my car has way more features than gli and in altis price i rather get myself a 2008 thai accord which we had for a few weeks and i absoutlety loved that car to have it as my own, but till then i think ellen should stay, no?

Now, this model is becoming unique. Keep it and enjoy its ride. The newer model are not this much responsive. Trust me, i have driven the corolla 2002 (my father used to owe one) and corolla 2010 (my Khalu owes that) but i miss the fun in the previous generation.

indeed i like the how the full potential and torque of 1zz-fe is available to you always instead of being buried under a computer committee or now slippery cvts which never have a punch in acceleration

hi guys, good news and bad news, bad news is Ellen is finally going to be replaced:/ however its going to be replaced with a 2002 w203 mercedes c200 which also belongs to a fellow pakwheeler and is in excellent nick and has each and every option ticked. so do you think its a worthy upgrade?

oh and i haven't done bewafai with my Ellen:P, its not going to be sold off or anything merely it will be transferred form weekend only car to a sort of daily driver, i would still be taking care of it detailing it and all, but as my own car would be a proud owner of a benz insha allah

so i got the merc but this car was on the back burner for a while haven't even started for a week, and no its not going to be sold nor transferred to daily driver duty, not worth it:P so i can still have fun and enjoy detailing it and it would stay young for lots of time to come
a recent drive

to be honest after driving the merc around the daily driver 2010 gli felt so bad to drive, it was even disspointing to get into it, only after being in a quality product do you notice all the little faults and build quality issues, weird creaking noises roughness in closing doors, the unsmooth engine etc even though its pretty well maintained and not abused. the altis still felt good and tight though sitting enside it with good throttle response though not as smooth, still enjoyed driving Ellen:P
