Was as i know this engine came in Prado so no big deal.
Example xli 1.3 is swapped with 1.6 engine.

oh no..but just noticed its a peshawar number plate.. so not suitable for karachi.. pls be on the look out for lc 80.. preferably karachi or islamabad registered. Thanks. Sajid

Sajidd Bhai, honestly speaking the only thing I did not like about this LC is that it's Peshawar registration but in the 90s when my dad bought it that was not a problem at all. A guy has a 70 series I think 93 model if you are interested then let me know. It's 5 door same as mine but in green colour and Isb registered.

Yes, back then there were no issues with number plates.. and i guess even now in islamabad, Peshawar plates are some what acceptable.
I am more interested in 80 series.. and if i ever i get 70 series from islo, i would ask you to update it cosmestically before bringing it down to karachi. Yours looks fantastic.

Saaduk Sahib, how would you compare stock 1kz 1995 70 series with 80 series? is 70 series LC Prado equally capable? what about handling? speed? ease of driving ? fuel economy? pros and cons?
I am a big 80 series fan and have been searching for one for a while now, looks like I might have to settle for something with 1kz, ie Prado or Surf.

Sajidd Bhai if I remember correctly you have owned 2 Surfs, v6/1kz, Prado, Pajeros, Defender, LC II, LC 105 seris etc and all of them souped up so I think you have much much more experience than me but still just to answer your question, 80 series is a much better vehicle overall. 80 is much comfortable, better handling, more functions, better bulit quality, spacious. Both of these vehicles are old now and i feel like within a couple of years 80 series parts wont be much easy to find in second hand market especially. 70 series parts will be available as these machines were made in higher amount and are still in production. But ill go for 80 series anyday over 70 series.

Dear piccolodario,

Well as far as I remember, I did not require any bodylift. My lc had 2 inch suspension lift but I think stock height wont make any issue. For motor mounts, you can modify them to fit in place on the chassis. For exhaust , you have to re route it a bit but that wasn't much of a problem. Rest its easy to fit just be sure you engine sump is in middle. Thanks.

Ppl swapping 1 uz should consider 1fz and 5vz

What's the world got against 1UZs? Anyways not that I complain helps keep prices down low. Yup buy th 1FZs, cost more than a lot of cars these days, but no never modify. Not on PW at least.

Dear Fahad

At the time when I was installing the engine, it was not very mature especially wiring etc as I think there were only 1 or 2 swaps done in Peshawar and at that time not in any 4x4s.

Honestly the swap was not that difficult, all I did was to get the 1uz with mid sump version. I used my own 1kzs auto gear box. Changed the rear drive shaft. No chassis mods, just engine mounts. Don't remember much honestly. But the engine got over heated on me and fried. I read in multiple forums about over heating issues but didn't had the time and stamina to work on it as I had much important things to do haha. Anyhow I went for 5vz swap which was again first swap in this model. Before 1kz, I swapped 1kdftv in this 4x4, very very new engine for its time.

Rest shoaib kiani can guide u more as he has 1uz transplanted his fj40. Thanks.
