True, but I had a similar problem initially. It can be overcome by developing a reflex where you place your left hand's thumb just below the petrol filter and then move your remaining fingers behind it to find the knob of the choke... After a few tries, I can now adjust the choke without having to bend to look for it.....
The one problem that we all do face eventually is that it gets hard and difficult to pull at times, especially during winters..... For that, pull out the choke, then add a few drops of wd40, and then move it back and forth a couple of times.... It will be smooth as new within seconds
