You should not make your conclusion based on road experiences.
There are many possibilities that you easily out run some car.i.e
1.The person in the car is not fully involved in the race.
2.The person dont know how to accelerate the car with cars full potential.
- There may be a problem with his car.
Since your car is new it can give its max performance because every system of your car is working fine.
I can explain you 3rd. Poit with simple example of my own.
We Have Honda Civic Reborn .we bought it in 2010 zeeo meter.uptill now 2015 it is only 24000km driven brand new but since start of 2015 the car performance decreased too much so much that even a vitz 1.0 can outrun it.
We were very worried we gat it tunned but no problem in tunning tappets were accurate .But problem turns out to be clogged cat convertor. Although i get it removed .But i should get it cleaned from 3s.
How ever our problem solved.
But my point is although the car you are racing is not in such condition as ours.
But it might have slightly clogged cat con. Or disturb tappets.
Or low tyre air pressure .or wrong tyre size.
And most probably
- He might have more people in car than you and more heavy.
