its good but 10w40 is better and available within cultus api requirement as well (Upto SJ), so why bother with thicker oils

engine used in Cultus was built in 1989 according to standards of that time. Its hydraulic lifter require adequate amount of Zddp (1500PPM) to lessen the wear. After API SJ, zinc was reduced to 1200ppm in SL, SM and much reduced to 800ppm in SN. Which is a good thing for modern engine but not our cultus.

I bought cultus 2011 in mettalic clr, lhr reg, company fitted cng abt 3 months ago. Its mileage is 96k. Its working perfect with ac. I used havolin formula oil, now it has done 4300 mileage. Should i change oil now? Or after 5000km. And also recommend which oil should i use. My use is maximum 50km daily open road.

I used SGO Premium API SG in my liana and it ate 2 liters of it in 4200km running. Suzuki recommend SGO Ultimate API SM.. Apparently i think this reduction is due to wrong oil..now i have put in API SM Havoline...

if its reducing jam-e-shereen- it will reduce tap water as well.
engine oil doesnt harm the engine in short run. I think you have bad seals. get them checked. My car used to reduce bit of oil. Changed valve stem seals now its always upto the mark

Valve seals ka kaam lamba kaam hai aur head khulta hai? Rings bhi gone ho skte hain?

Yes it will decrease consumption but will increase wear and tear and god forbids. Slugs of thicker oil can harm valve and cam furthur

I have witnessed white smoke at cold startup only and no smoke after engine has started and car moving..

My mechanic said k you should change oil at 3500km in liana and you have already run it for 4500km..

Yes 3k is appropriate interval
I guess its valve seals which are bad
