What's under the hood
This one have 2.5 4 Cylinder and two electric motors one at the front and one at the back making a combined 246 bhp. The V6 version is 3.5 producing 292bhp but the fuel average is 8.9L/100km where as the Hybrid gives a 5.6L/100km.
246bhp with this size and that economy is properly great
Yes definitely is and the electric motors provide instant torque and make it quicker off the line than a V6 version. Test drove both of them for a considerable amount of time.
I love the hybrid torque, I owned a gen2 prius for 1.5 year, every time I gunned it, it brought a smile on my face
Bought some Hardrace stuff for the EK4, will post pics once they get installed on the car
I have heard that people are welding Hatchback rear to their half cut Sedans in Islamabad and Lahore, is that true?
Yes sir. Very common now a days. Even they are welding coupes that came in pieces.
This is the first that I am hearing of this. Are they professionally done?
Naa. Sir desi "batti" welding. Many ek's are converted into hatch. Hatches you see for sale in 10-15lac are converted ones. I really hate the complete idea.
That is interesting.
Edit: Apparently, this is also being done in the west. I never knew you can be creative with your used car.
They are also converting sedans to truck in the west. Crazy stuff indeed!
These are just show cars. You know pkdm welding work and rust protection. They are not going to last.
And doesn’t it effect the legality of the documents? Official documents showing the car as a sedan and it looks like a hatchback?
It does. But people here don't care, as chassis name remains the same. When they weld a complete coupe/hatch in one piece they cut the portion of chassis that got chassis number and weld it to coupe/hatch chassis. Totally illegal.
I have seen people here in Australia doing a stitch welding their EK chassis to match an EK9 Chassis (Which comes stitch Welded from factory) for extra chassis rigidity but never cutting the floor to destroy the structural integrity. Might be because of the fact that Hatchback was an Australian delivered option so they don't have to do that, but its extremely dangerous specially if you are swapping the engine with a higher torque and bhp at the same time converting to a hatch.
People don't understand that performance chassis is different then commuter.Nothing properly done here....because there first priority is Show.
OK the front suspension bits done, rear installation still going on, Allahamdullilah its coming together nice. Also sold the Watanabe RS wheels as they were 14", too small for the EK and instead bought some Works emotion CR Kai's, hope you guys like it
