well, all thanks to GPS.. without that it is very very difficult to plan such a road-trip. Language is a major issue, but when there is will there is way. Some of the basic repeating sign-boards you learn on way

We didn't used public transport anywhere so I cannot comment on transport charges. If you're planning to hire a car I can tell all costs and requirements.
In Nice-France we stayed in Ibis Hotel, it was 120 Euros per night for standard room. Monaco is quite expensive, it's better to stay in Nice and drive to Monaco as it is only 30-40 mins drive.

I'll try to put hotel and food cost for rest of destinations, as till Venice we didn't stayed overnight and did one day trips from Milan and Milan we were staying at uncle's house

Its always a trick to reduce trip cost that instead of staying in Most Famous Cities, keep trying to stay in neighbor less famous city, it always will reduce your costs with a big difference.
