An update, if anyone is interested: My old car was sold to its fourth owner, who did not take care of oil changes. The engine is now worn out after 289,000 miles. However, the body is good enough after 17 years on the road in upstate NY that he is putting in a used engine from a salvage yard for about $500. It is hard to kill a Camry.
