Significant updates have happened since I last posted here. Just haven't got the chance to share - been really busy. I'll try and recap now, after replying to some of the posts here.

I got my paint work done from Yazdani Auto Works in Karachi.

Congrats. The outcome is amazing.

Personal opinion the 2001-2003 red rear lights look more appropriate to this car. And the red indicator makes it more sweet.

Anyways. Great out come Yazdhani always come up to your expectations.

Thanks for the positive comments I too like the 2001-03 rear lights so had to go through some deliberation before deciding for these. My key considerations were: 1. These are an upgrade to a newer model and they add a lot of cosmetic value 2. I already have the old lights from the car as an option to switch back whenever I feel - so I decided to spend this money on something that adds to my options as of right now, I'm really liking the look and dont have plans to switch to the old lights.

is there any workshop in lahore that does a paintjob of this quality??
i have an average experience with Honda Fort..apparently the ground preperation is of not so good quality resulting in irregular wavy pattern on the finish..however the shine is good.and paint doesnt crack..
its the mirror like no wavy shine m interested in..i am willing to spend bucks only if i get a supreme finish..any help?

So after I took delivery of the car from the paint workshop, I had a few suspension related problems that needed attention; practically no shock dampening - it was as if the car was only running on springs, really bouncy, clown like hehe. So I got all shocks and springs replaced. Front and back. The great thing about this model is that the junkyard markets are full of Kabuli goodies, you get em cheap and guaranteed. One of the shocks was replaced a couple times before I was fully satisfied.

Additionally the tie rods, linkers etc were all checked/replaced too. The hubs were also really noisy - at speeds above 60kmph, i would feel like an airplane was about to take off - replaced these too.

Total expenses: Approximately 20K - pretty good, eh?

Also got a buff done on the front windscreen - it was full of scratches and night visibility was terrible. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by the outcome, the windscreen is practically brand new and scratch/swirl free.

This costs Rs. 1500 only - highly recommended!

Also got a computerized tune up. The car recently got a replacement of engine oil, atf, spark plugs, air filter etc. It was still not so friendly with the economy (not that this model has a reputation to be, anyway). But the final check-point was to see if the intake mixture was adjusted to the right setting and that was not the cause of the poor economy. Got this done and I found a significant improvement in the tuning and economy came up from 6.5 to 8, even 8.5 on a good run.

Here are some photos of the car, inside and outside taken here and there while getting minor upgrades - really loving the output in terms of the depth and shine of the color. The interior now coming up to my liking as well, after installing the new steering and giving it a thorough clean up (door panel upholstery was fixed previously). Things are shaping up.

After maybe 3 months of searching, this finally arrived to my doorstep. Huge thanks to my mate @uiv for his relentless help throughout. Could not have made this upgrade which has in fact been one of the best things about this project.

I got a pair of OEM HID headlamps for the ES. These babies are beautiful - everything from the amber corners to the 'newness' and the lift and depth these have brought to the car is remarkable!

These lights do not have projectors, however the mechanism is well designed such that the bulb fires from behind the silver thing you see in the picture and makes full use of the reflector housing to result in an excellent cut-off. Comparable to projector based HIDs actually.

The headlamps being installed. Loved the quality of build material, harnesses, wirings etc. which came along with this. The headlights can be wired by any good electrician - fairly simple job, but it does require slight bit of work on the wires, wont be plug and play.

And now.. some latest pictures of the car, with most of its planned upgrades completed. I'm pretty much done with the project. A few things here and there such as the opti-tron cluster is still pending. I'm going to couple that with the big carputer project that i'm planning in the coming weeks; in-dash swap of the Nexus 7 tab

Brother ma sha ALLAH very well done every bit of work. I must say that getting a car repainted is an extremely tedious job, why m saying is because here in pakistan, very few painting efforts are done on a properly set up grounded metal.. i know yazdani motors, they are very fine. But i must appreciate that you convinced them to properly prepare the ground surface before paint. Thats the key to the brilliant outcome of your car's finish. Its amazingly good ma sha ALLAH without any waves. I hate waves by the way.

Do give sadqa and keep the car in good condition. Best of luck brother.

N brother if u needed anything from islamabad / rawalpindi, do let me know as here Sultan ka khoo has very cheap parts as compared to magazine lines, saddar and sher shah.. plus here there is very much variety. If u needed OEM keyless entry remote i can source that as well as once i saw that in Sultan ka khoo.
