sajjid bhai if u are looking for a 90, i know some one who has it and he's selling it aswell...it's an older model i guess 87 or 88 but it has R380 with a 300tdi....if ur interested i can ask him...last time when i asked he was demanding 5lacs.....n e ways m posting pics of my defender90 which i build 2 years ago. This 90 has participated in cholistan rally twice. Its gone now a friend of mine owns it and he's modifying it to bowler specs.

Maybe some day I will go for it...but for now, please do tell me bit more about the 90...where, who and how much?

Sajjid bhai that landy 90 is owned by my mechanich and he is very much interested in selling it......he has 3 defenders 2 of them are 110 5 door and one is 90 which i told u about...tomorrow he's gonna come over to deliver my 110..it went for oil change as from this weekend my hunting season starts......i will take some pics and post them on this forum.

If we r all land rover enthusiasts lets get together with our landies for some serious offroading.... i propose Jehlum as i have some friends there and and the terrain is superb for off-roading i know it would b a bit far away for sajjid bhai but trust me it would b one life-time off-roading experience and i will introduce to a friend of mine who owns 5 defenders there.Off-road specialist.

count me in bro, though i dont have defender but i would love to join this off-roading. i am a huge fan of defender. its the best among all suvs. had once ride in storm's defender and it was really telling that i am storm's defender, so powerful and roomy. now i am a bigger fan of it

beeberg ur on the list...if all of us agree let me make reservations at the Hotel Tulip in jehlum, i hope storm must have seen it if he has travelled from ISD to LHR by GT road..its rite on the Jehlum River... for Jehlum nice place to stay. Ask sajjid bhai aswell

Guys.....I have no knowledge or experience of Land Rovers. But you enthusiast have made me wonder, what is up with a Toyota engine in a Land Rover shell? Why not just go for a Toyota Jeep?

I am just asking for my understanding, not comparing Toyota with Land Rovers or anything...

Actually toyota engines are much cheaper than land rover engines and bcoz of the fact that parts are also very cheap and as we use them the wear and tear cost goes much higher.... u can get 3 engines of toyota at the price of one land rover engine of that specs or power.

Sounds like you guys have brewed up a wonderful plan. Ah, now I wish it was just as easy for me to join you guys on this trip. Unfortnately duties on the domestic front wont allow me the luxury of any off roading trip till at least March.

I have two little girls, and one more due by the end of this month. So between three babies, the Mrs will go crazy and as such I need to be "there" for her and I do actually want to be "there" for her.

So you guys go ahead with the trip if its going to be anytime soon. If later then for sure I would love to join you guys. Maybe i could truck my defender to Lahore or some where...

The bowler specs..oh wow..thats one heck of a machine.

I can well imagine that being the case.....but then what do we get by using an LR shell? why not just got with an FJ or something...and go Toyota all the way?

Alpha..thats a good point and something I am curious about as well..why not go with one of toyotas instead of going thru the hassel of changing the engine...?

Alpha bhai the thing about Defender is its suspension and its transmission.....trust me Toyota does not even come near it when its about off-roading.....The only good thing about toyota is its engines......

of approval for me.

Yes it does.....i remember a few years back(b4 they opted for defenders)....Pak army recieved sample 4x4s from all over the world which had wrangler 4.2L inline6 manual transmission....damn it was too powerful but the bad thing about it was that it had leaf springs and it was 2 low....it failed in the desert and than later it was auctioned to the civilians and was bought by a friend of mine..But defenders are remarkable.

another thing is the modular design of a defender it can be altered to almost any body style, is light and is diesel (small capacity with good power).
