My Suzuki Mehran DIY Upgrades

yes Mehran is mehran and it will always stays a mehran. What i am trying to do is making minimal changes and not the extra odd looking mods. the idea behind all this is:

The car should not look odd,
Comfort,
the changes done are cheap and no heavy cost involved,and can be returned back to its original form
all the parts that have been taken out like mirrors, brake cylinder, grill etc etc are staying safely with me and can be installed back.

my car stands out when someone gets a closer look, when i tell them about mini mods i have done, they appreciate and thats the return which satisfies.....

finding rims for 114 pcd 12" is in progress .and believe me i am not going for new shape....i will find some good old style rims for the similar shape to be installed after painting it matt metalic golden....keping fingures crossed.

I didnt knew that bro, I am also keeping the pic of this khyber as well. And the reason i am keeping these pictures are, if i will ever get these cars i will keep them like this. Now, i know you keep cars lush phush. Sharing the pic i have got with me I dont remember the source where i have got it but probably from pakwheels or olx. not sure

A friend of mine had Mehran Euro 2 years ago, he wanted to go out for tea and I had just recovered from dengue back then.
He called me and said "Salman mai araha hu tuje pick karne", I asked "Mehran mai aega?". He replied "Han to aur?", I told him to stay at his home, I'll come pick him up even though I was ordered specifically by the doctor to rest and not drive or do anything. But I didn't want to sit on the passenger seat of his Mehran because 20 minutes on it hurts my fragile back. That is how much I hate its seats, agar andar Boss waali plastic chair b rakh de wo b behtar hogi. However, when I sat in another friend's Mehran (Mira seats) everything changed. You can't magically turn a car into something else, but good seats do make a difference and Mehran's seats are there as a formality, thank god that Pak Suzuki didn't deliver it to the customers with a dastar khwan instead of its 4 phattas.

That's great, just keep the car's exterior as simple as possible. Mehran looks best how it comes out of the factory. Get JWL certified lightweight japanese rims (second hand, get them painted), rather than shiny and brittle chinese ones. Seats will be a great addition, you will be able to drive for longer distances without keeping wintogeno in your dashboard. Also you are taking such good care of your car, I hope you are using coolant instead of water aswell to keep the car's internals protected.

Yes brother. Khyber also owned by me. And still using it. I also have a thread of my khyber. Its in suzuki section, named as my 1999 khyber.

yes , coolant all the way, timely fluids changed, alignment, regular lubrication where required. regular suspension check.
because its a daily driver, so i have to keep it to upgraded.

minor upgrades i have done already:

Bulbs Philips rally vision installed
Hand brake console of suzuki cultus
Cigarette Lighter with green light ring from an old civic
New bridgestone 155/70/12 already installed and got rid of the pathetic General tyres
new Black bumpers installed of old model mehran as i hate the new shape (the bumpers taken out are kept safely at home wrapped in plastic with all the brackets intact)
Fogs to be installed as per the attached pic.
Back view mirror changed ( it has dimm mirror with option for to deflect high beam coming from back. Plus its is removable i mean its clip on).
Horn upgraded with relays installed in front instead of the original horn place.

Whats the actual logic when mehru doors are not closing properly. denter always says that "pinney new dalwani hai".. Can we do this adjustment? any DIY ? @omersiddiqui5482

I have been using a Suzuki myself for 2 years now. No such issue.

Door pins. my mehru doors are not closing complete until dont apply force, before that it got closed with little push.

The Door Lock Hinge to which the door lock connects wear off by time check that! else there is nothing major in that lock to wear off.

Else Buy New ones Genuine Suzuki are available for like 600 a piece!

Also check the door hinge that connects door to the body!

Better to change the lock and hinges if they have gone bad! you will require a denter you will not be able to align the door properly! What model of Mehran is it?
