Theres this "B" at the lowest position of the shifter, thats for 4WD. Btw, thats what that friend of mine told me, i cudnt believe but he said hes 100% sure,didnt check it for confirmation though...

very nice car... a friend got a one in 08, drove it for a while and really liked it.that was 1000cc but had gud performance.very very smooth drive, unlike local corollas.

200kgs lighter? u gotta be kidding me! this thing wud be hardly a few kgs lighter as it has 4wd system too, plus airbags and better quality everything,so yes, i believe its less then a few dozen kgs lighter then corolla.30-40 may be.max.

or really honda fan according to Toyota.com its weight is 1 048.2 kg even with that 6 airbags but the japanese one has 2 and corolla weight is 1 270kg do u even think that its only 30 40 kg difference.Get some info first and then talk here.I know your city is lighter and plus also the belta comes in two different systems 2wd and 4wd and this doesnt seems to be 4wd as they are very rare.
the different of weight is more than 200kg.

and for B thing its also present in my axio so this doesnt means its 4wd.B means first 2 gears and S means first 3 gears .first drive an auto vehicle and then talk

Sorry, but you are incorrect here. The "B" is for "Engine Braking" as in it has the first 2 gears only. It is very good for climbing slopes, high-incline ramps, etc, but it's not FWD. Of course, JDM Belta also comes with a 4WD option but I have not personally seen one in Pakistan. Usually 4WD-equipped cars have a separate selector for switching between 2WD, 4WD Low, 4WD Hi. Similarly, the "S" right next to the "B" makes the transmission switch gears at a higher rpm therefore letting the driver reach their desired speed quicker. The "S" has one gear less than "D".

If you still don't believe me, have your Belta lifted up at its next car wash and then you can check underneath to see if there is a rear differential on the back wheels or not.

This is not 4wd.

AWD Belta is called 1.3X. whereas this one is 1.3G.

My 1.3 lit Belta weighs in precisely at 1,030 kg which is around 200 kg less than PDM Corolla. Since the current gen. PDM Corolla has an almost same engine (2NZ-FE for Corolla vs. 2SZ-FE for 1.3 lit Belta) both with VVT-i, the peak power produced by both engines is also around the same 63 kW for Corolla and 64 kW for Belta. However, since most Beltas on the road come with an Auto transmission as opposed to Manual on Corolla, some of that power is wasted in the AT. But the Belta comes out as an overall winner because of lesser weight and hence a higher power-to-weight ratio.

Disclaimer: I am a Belta owner, so take my analysis above with a pinch of salt.

i stand corrected here,then. but i dont see how it can weight just around 1050kgs, thats as heavy as a baleno, approx. and yes, if it does NOT come with 4wd then my statement was pretty much okay.that wud ad a lot of extra weight of drive shaft and differential and other small stuff.

i ve driven enough car.stay in ur pants kid! Every manufacturer gives their own name to these things and i already wrote in my post that this is what they owner of that belta told me.i had NOTHING to do with it watsoever. if only u had enough sense to read the whole replies without jumping in to write rude replies...!!!

mine is G selection! belta and vitz both comes in 1.3l awd variant too! but awd variant is really rare!

Thankyou for educating me sir, u are certainly right about what u r saying so i dont need to check for a drive shaft.secondly i dont have a belta my self, a friend bought it and told all that to me. and i clearly mentioned in my post that this info was according to my friend , to be confirmed. belta is faster that corolla in 1.3 category! anyways these things are useless to discuss as these are family compact sedans not a racing cars!

it certainly will be! dont know the HP rating so cant say. and yes, HP hardly matters in these cars. the best feature of belta is the fuel economy.i ve heard it does close to 20km/ltr if driven with care. Belta, probably, is the only car which gets close/surpasses the fuel economy of city idsi. plus the drive is very smooth too...

Sorry about that. I meant to say they both produce around 63-64 kW (which translates to 84-85 bhp).
