When walls are cemented the water dries it leaves microscopic gaps so when air gets in it there it gets cooled or gets hot depending on season.
So some chemical is used so that those gaps dont develop. Heard it few years back from some nespak engineer.

That magic chemical is bitumen emulsion incase it's a wall. The process is called Damp Proofing.

It applies to any floor that touches the ground forming the basis of contact between water/moisture and the foundation. Incase a house is built with basement then i would do it for the basement. For the rest of the house all you need to touch are the floors, that too with water pipes passing through them. For example under powder rooms, bathrooms and kitchen.

why did you put a wall right in the center of the circular thing ?

it doesnt look good this way, you should have had a complete circular thing. That would reduce space in rooms, but would look so good.

And btw who designed your house? he probably took inspiration from a multi story round table....

The upper corner wall that you are talking about will go from end to end in the front. Wait till you see the finished front, I'm sure you'll like it.

The curve on the side is incomplete still. We left that space out on purpose to fix a lift to carry material from the ground floor to the terrace. The lift will be fastened to the walls for which that empty space you see at this moment should suffice.

We dont have any rooms in the front dear, it's just a kitchen on the RHS.

Keep us posted with more ideas/critic.

A trip to the local steel market for buying the materials for the main gates. Thought I'd share it with you all too.

That's the gate-maker on the chair running down final costs of the materials (sheets, gauges etc) and the dude sitting to the right across the table has the BEST job in the world - counting his money all day long!

These are the sheets that are used to make the gates. Notice those HUGE coils of sheets, now these sheets are sold according to weight. Your gate maker or electrician/welder will come into the shop/steel yard with his measurement of your gates, he will select the quality and thickness (gauge) of these sheets and once the sheets are cut out they are sold to you according to their weight. 1 Kg sells for Rs.100, there's atleast 1000kg (1 ton) packed in these coils, do the math and see how much $ do you see around in the yard! In my opinion at any given day this yard houses ATLEAST Rs. 2 - 3 crores worth of goods.

This is a 30 feet roller, what it does is it straightens out and coils the sheets in the order you see behind the machine. This beast costs about 35 lacs (used) and is HUGE.
