nice but where's the connection for power cables ?

The power distribution box and AMF/ATS is 32 meters apart from where the generator is being installed. Shall run good quality 1 x 4 core power cable and 1 x 4 core control cable (battery charging & ATS/AMF). The cables alone costs approx Rs. 48,000.

Thanks a lot Bro. Spending so much money just for the piece of mind. All that is required is Oil and Oil filter change. I also considered this company which you have attached the specs sheet of. Was only hesitant because it is currently being manufactured in China which turns me off. 4 years back when you purchased it, manufacturing was done in USA, I think.

I am not aware of current situation I bought this from SM Jaffer this Unit is manufactured in UK the canopy is local Made which I opted for to save some money even though the original Canopy was close to soundless.

I also considered caterpillar generator and I was surprised to see the only difference between FG Wilson and Cat was the paint on the engine Cat do Yellow and FG do blue everything else was 100% Same :p. Alternator /ENgine model everything and CAT was charging more for genset.

SM Jaffer guy still some time calls me and tells me not to sale this unit to anyone they want to buy it back whenever we upgrade and we are planning to upgrade to 30 KvA next year.

Not to mention.... I did try. But there are many factors/variables involved, so I left it.........but i for sure have a clear idea that it is not that cheap when compared to WAPDA. Moreover, I will only be using it as a backup in severe hot and humid weather when there is no WAPDA at all. So there's practically no sense in comparing it with something that is not even available when one needs it the most.

The reason they want to buy back is because now the production has started in china and your's made in UK. A fellow member @ojz is selling his very less used big generator. I don't remember its rating and make but you can search for it here on the forums. Hope it helps.

do install an external battery charger with it as well. try to get your hands on Proline Trickle Charger. It's a must for home generators. It keeps the batteries fully charged at all time, and hence increases the life. I am also using them on my industrial generators, although they run abt 3-4hrs daily, but still it's a good practice to install external battery chargers.

Thanks for the advice bro. I am installing an imported AMF and ATS. There's a built-in battery trickle charge mechanism in it. Will ensure it at the time of installation too.

Finally got the generator installed yesterday, UP and WORKING perfectly. There was a lot of distance between the generator and the distribution panel, so you can imagine......Wiring was obviously the longest task :).

Luckily we had a empty plot behind the wall where the genset was to be placed. Craine was ascorted to that plot from where it landed the genset onto its platform (Foundation).

You can also see the length of the wiring required to be done through proper flexible and hard PVC pipes along the wall. Total length of wires was approx 40 meters.

The technical staff performing the job was very professional and friendly.

Today I did a small 1 hour detailing session with the GenSet. It was full of fingerprints and oily material. Cleaned/washed it thoroughly. See the final pictures and enjoy.

Will run it for few days and report the fuel average.

You can also see the digital control panel on the gensets. I have scrolled through its various options. It shows every possible helpful information such as; AC Volts, Load (Amps), KVA, KVAR etc of all the 3 phases indiviually. You can also see the engine coolant temperature, RPM, Pressures, running time etc.

I have yet to recieve this controllers booklet. It has many configurable options such as warming time of generator before shutdown and after startup, Fuel levels, RPM, warnings etc. (Yet to be discovered).

Both :). You can turn it to auto for automatic start and shutdown when electricity goes and comes respectively and you can turn it to manual mode where you can operate it yourself. It also has a digital control where you can set specific times and days to operate automatically

Congratulations. How you will be managing fuel supply? In our office they have put two large drums and when one is emptied they take it to petrol pump for refilling. The office boy pours with a hand operated pump.
