I've planned to change the oil at 300 Kms. Through the forums, I came accross 3 choices:
1. Liquimoly 4T Racing 20W-50
2. Valvoline 4T 20W-50
3. ZIC 4T 20W-40, Black Bottle Mineral based.

GS owners Help me choose one, also share your experiences. some people complained about engine choking on 20W-50 liquimoly. I currently feel that engine becomes too havey on 3500-4000 rpms.i expect the engine to go light after first oil change, though.

yea in initial running period i felt the same. get zic 10-40 it will do fine for your bike. DONT use 20w50 on new engine. bike will sort out itself after running period

2: The headlight bulb's low filament flamed out last night. have to get it replaced.
3: The bike feels like low on fuel and does sort of missing when driven at constant speed of 40~50 kmph.
4: To get a solution for the key that I have broken earlier. I have to find the same Suzuki genuine key and get mine one replicated on that.

another thing is, bike is just 16o km driven so far. may i change the engine oil to zic 10W-40 as i feel the engine sounds too heavy.

The gear shift sound cannot be removed or fixed, its an issue by birth with this engine. Try to warm up the bike for 30 seconds and it will be lessened to an extent.
The missing on low rpms is OK in the running period. It will go away after 1000 or so KMs. DO NOT get the carb opened or anything. My bike works perfect on factory carb settings.
Make sure the rear wheel is dead center after chain adjustment.
Change oil at 300km. Use 10w-40. Do not go for 20w in the new engine. Waisay bhi it's not peak summer anymore.

10w-40, zic fully synthetic black packing is fine ?

@ammarzahid, bike isn't doing any missing now. The guy at service center said the mixture is too rich, and he made it a bit lean. but then I felt noticeable drop in acceleration. Turned the mixture crew one rotation counter-clock wise and it is better in acceleration now.

The dilemma is: I forgot to note the factory setting of the mixture screw i.e. no. clock wise turns to fully tighten the screw.
can I get its standard/default value from somewhere ?

Sorry bro no idea about factory settings. If the bike is working fine leave it as is. Check color of spark plug if you suspect mixture isnt right.

Be sure to get genuine zic from zic service center. If you have metro cash and carry you can source from there as well. Shell ax5 15w40 is also a good option

don't play with gs carb its very sensitive I remember once I messed up my dad's gs carb I was try to my the mixture lean it kept geting rich no matter in which direction I rotate the fuel mixture screw later on a suzuki mechanic told to lean gs mixture you have lean idel rpm and fuel mixture at same time

Brother first 1k of odo compy make mixture setting rich to feed more petrol to engine so that engine remain cool and after first tuning mixture will be set to a bit lean . Dont worry if ur ride is feeding more fuel. And if the plug is black dont worry its normal in running due to more fuel feeding .

can you share the invoice price plus registration charges plus insurance?

Invoice is 122500 Rs. Insurance 5000 Rs and registration cost approx. 4500 Rs in punjab.

GS-150 owners, Please pay attention.
May be it is loose chain or something else, but during ride, a 'thak' kinda noise comes from chain case sometime from rear end and some time from front end. it is extremely haunting.

another issue is when i put the bike in 1st gear, it some time makes a khattak noise, and some time it goes silently. the same noise also comes when shifiting to other gears not all the time, but sometimes.

Congrats for new ride. I am facing same issue, sometimes sound vanishes and sometimes it is too much (even on each gear change). Mechanic said it is not an issue, chain/clutch adjustments makes it better.
But again sometimes i can hear sound on gear change.

Finally I met someone with same issues as mine. Well brother i reduced the clutch free play to 4-5 mm, and I make it sure that I grasp the clutch lever completely and then shift, furthermore I also observe rpm and shift the gear when it not to early as well as not too late.

I hope oil change also affects the clutch performance, so lets hope an improvement after the oil change. after 300 kilometers, I'll pour zic 10w-40, and after 1000 kilometers, I'll go for liquimoly 10w-40 subject to availability, 20w-50 other wise.

Registration : 3700/-
(as per the dealership, I left the registration procedure with them. May be they ask me to pay more when i'll go to collect the book)
No idea how much it costs for the insurance.
