I'm glad you're so excited but after opening this thread I'm a little disappointed and personally believe you're investing too much money into this car thinking it's something that it's not. I'll give you my humble opinion and praise so please dont take offense.
If you think this Ford Pinto (which is what it essentially is) is equal to the legendary Mustang, then I'd suggest you reconsider your decision to restore this car because it is not only expensive to source but also undesirable from a collectors perspective. BUT if you are happily well aware it's a Mustang II and not the original Mustang then have fun with your new baby.
For people that are saying the Mustang 2 is a true Mustang, do you also think the Pajero Mini is a true Pajero? The Mustang 2 and Mustang original are very different cars - both with their own fans - but, it just so happens that the Mustang original is desirable and the Mustang 2 is not.
