10w40 is good for new engines and winter seasons..For old rides 20w50 offers better engine protection..Get Liqui Moly 20w50 for a mineral based oil.

Haji noor is one of the biggest frauds. I have had the worst experience with him. I wouldn't recommend him at all. He knows many tricks in the book and will work in such a way that our bike will be okay at his shop but after few days the problem will be back. Always remember that once u get work done from Haji fraud you will always keep coming back and he will milk u for money. Best to avoid him. There are many other good mechanics like Zeeshan from samnabad or rashid at mclore road. Avoid haji fraud at all costs.

A perfect gs500 would cost upward of 250k. Best option would be to buy a GS for around100k and then give to a good mechanic who would charge around 100k for a good restoration. Paint would cost around 15k and new tyres around 20k. Anything cheaper than 250k would be a bemari and only fit for occasional rides within the city in cold winter days.
For a perfect restoration be prepared to spend more than 300k and be prepared to import genuine parts as required.

Thanks for the detailed reply however i have no experience in heavy bikes and getting them restored would be a nightmare. Restore hua bike mil jai to ziyda bhatar ha but 300K :o

If u buy a restored one then you will not know what's in the bike. You will be taking a risk and hoping that the previous owner used good stuff while restoring. I wont recommend taking a chance when investing 250k+ for a bike.

I know a pakwheeler who claimed that his gs750 was restored immacuately but when it was sold the new owner had to spend upward of 40k on engine.

It is best to restore yourself through a good mechanic. If you are in lahore then i can help u prepare a good gs500
