In my opinion car prices difference is due to the fact that there are more used cars for sale at any one time in Karachi as compared to Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Due to the competition used car prices drop in Karachi whereas in Islamabad/Rawalpindi the market is smaller but so are the cars available for sale.

In addition, the cars in Karachi have more mileage on them as compared to cars in the north. Distances in Karachi from one point to another are more than distances in cities in the north.

Another factor is that the weather conditions of the north preserve the cars better than in the hot and humid climate in Karachi where rust and colour fade are common.

And finally, people in the north care more about their cars. Cars are mostly garaged there as compared to Karachi where they are parked in the streets open to weather and vandalism.

@mehran i tend to disagree with highlighted point.

cars Up north have more odo reading then a car in KHI.

Up north almost every private car owner in good health go out for a long drive with family minimum ONCE a year sometimes almost on every long break . Few respectable members of this very forum will agree with me on it.

about maintenance - Metal may catch rust but overall maintenance of a vehicle is equally good like rest of urban car owners across country.

last but not least - Cars are not stolen in Karachi from inside the house / home as frequently as done up north. Personal trackers with anti-jammer match boxes are very common now as cheap as under 20,000 with map link sent from the unit reaching your hand held device and tracking / route map available over internet.

you seems to quiet paranoid SUN is more bright at Coastal cities thats why people tend to land at beaches to TAN

Karachi car sales (read sale purchase transactions) per day is equal to 7 days (transactions) in Islamabad.

Some honest car dealer from either Town can verify my "BACK HAND SHOT" because per day car clearance from custom for KARACHI is Higher than per day Dispatch of Cars to UP north.

Thora bohat nahi kafi farq hota hai, some days back i was searching for 2005-6 Honda Civic Vti Oriel nice and clean car isb registered is about 12-13 lakhs and same car but karachi registered is for 9.5-10.5

bhai it seems ap nay odo meter ki wire neekali huee hai.. look at second pic.. meter mea diff ka sign and steering ka sign blinking.. yea tub hee hota hai jb power steering mea kuch fault yaa meter wali wire nikal lety hain..

Power steering sign with exclamation mark means check ur power steering as manual said. if its off then it means ur power steering motor is not working.

Your observation is very right but i wish to correct you for information only - warning lights are glow at turn of key before cranking the engine if car is OK all warning lights go-off. Picture you are referring to please see the RPM needle it is at zero means engine is not alive. such smart system is called BITE (Built-in test equipment) and always available on-board.

In the pic car is at switch on state and in case if there is a problem then these lights kept on when engine is start and running. so in pic rmp is zero means car is in switch state not start so its normal.
