Okay so 3 more upgrades to the car, I will start with the major one which was upgrading of the HU,
As you can see in my previous posts I decided to get a much needed speaker upgrade and went for getting hertz speakers for my car in the front and back. But with the android head unit there became some unbearable problems.
Ticking sounds, the speakers used to tick randomly when no music was playing. this was really annoying and scary at the same the same as I used to think something has gotten wrong with the car. There used to be a big "dugg" sound like the sound you get when you abruptly pull out a aux cable from sound speakers, this sound used to always come when turning the car off. The other problem was bass, there was absolutely no bass coming from the speakers, Shehryar bhai had told me not to mess with the loud setting and other settings in the system since that would ruin the speakers, but he had set a decent level on the equalizer and had adjusted it according the capacity the android HU had.
So considering these problem I consulted my audiophile friends one of them is Makhdoom Murtaza Hussain who has one of the most highly sought after SQ builds in his Toyota Altis Grande that was done by Soundvalley RWP. And another one is waqar hussain who also has a very unique car and a heavy sound system in his car but since it hasn't been posted on pakwheels no one knows about it I guess. Both of them suggested a pioneer unit.
Now I used to loathe this pioneer units, and think they were over hyped had limited functionality and what not, anyhow I know had decided that this android has to go and a pioneer unit has to replace it, my requirement was
It should be the newer version, the newer series 2017 onward look sleeker than the bulky old ones, and this look was in some of the Z series and the newer avh-9 series.
Android auto and apple carplay, both of these should be enabled and work with the unit, I am terrible at remembering places and I needed maps the most.
It should be new, or slightly used but in brand new condition.
So during this search came across many they all looked the same, I found the difference btw AVH and DMH and what not, I got to know what mixtrac is etc etc, I came to find out that the remote only costs around 2000, so with consultation of Sherhyar bhai and my friends, I finally got 2 options with after 2 months of searching that were reasonable and in budget.
- DMH-Z5150bt (brand new, 1 day used)
- AVH-Z5050bt (slightly used, in brand new condition with remaining 6 month warranty all accessories box available.)
- AVH-5250bt, AVH-5850bt (both used, old, ajeeb condition, no android auto no apple carplay)
Shehryar bhai suggested that the best option is z5050bt, it has the DVD player and all the features that I want is the newer z series and fast, so the deal was done with the seller and had it sent to me from Lahore.

Verdict: The difference is night and day, there is bass that was never heard before and the sound quality has drastically improved. Android Auto works seamlessly, due to the angle of the player everything is clear and the videos can be seen perfectly, I still have to find a way to make YouTube work on it, and wondering which audio format would bring the most, I think FLAC formats would be the best. There is no more ticking aur dugg noises, however with only one USB port, I don't have a port to power my dashcam and my Jazz 4G device, but Shehryar bhai has a solution will go visit him in this week to get those back online.
