Okay lol small confession I painted the brakes and it was a total DIY job.
The paint I chose for this was Rustoleum Engine Enamel Metallic Gold Flake. I really liked the look of Nissan GTRs that have gold or copper type calipers on grey rims. So I took my inspiration from the R35.
I ordered it from Auto X and I must say the services from Auto X are superb. I ordered from them last time Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer and another long soft brush to clean the barrel of the rims and they delivered this the very next day. The same with this paint, the very next day they sent it.
I used a heavy diluted megs APC a wire brush and sandpaper to clean the calipers from the years of brake dust and also found out that the calipers are a nice silver color at front from factory and a grey color at the back, if they were all silver I probably would have thought about painting them:P
Next I taped off the area with two garbage bags cut open and some newspaper that was used on the discs also masking tape was put on areas that I did not want paint to come in contact with e.g. the caliper pin rubbers and the metal pins that secure the pads.
I gave 3 coats to each brake caliper and this is what they looked like in the end.
I got the TRD stickers made from Sticker Lover PWD by giving him measurements of the calipers and this how they looked like in the end.
Now as with any DIY job there were hurdles lol, first hurdle was that the rain came and poured for at least 1 and a half hour that caused me to stop the work, then the next was that the rear calipers don't have enough space for allowing a ratchet to open the the top 14mm nut so a spanner had to be used. Then the ABSOLUTE worst part was the rear passenger side caliper would not fit, it was about 12:45 am, and I gave up on it.
Tried it again in the morning after watching some youtube videos but still no luck, I found out that a piston has to be pushed back in with a tool or a nose plierfor it to be an exact fit, and then this is what I did, but I had a normal plier (plass) not a nose plier, I called a friend who is a mechanic, he came and literally in 30 secs he pushed the piston with a nose plier.
But Allhamdulliah very please with the results, once it was fit, I went on a round and did light to heavy braking, I read also that was a method to bake the paint, and then parked it in the sun, and took some photos.
