Similar happened to me once, a 1K note was fake.
It was a really 'complex' note, had quite a few security features, including the water mark.
I showed to a few of my friends, and they were also amazed.
However since it was fake. (the small flag's colour and material quality both on closer examination showed issues). I went back to the bank.
The clerk rejected by commenting, their ATM machine is fool proof.
Went Straight to the Branch Manager (he was a nice guy), and facilitated.
In brief the Branch Manager exchanged the note, after cross checking the transaction details.
They said, the bank maintains transaction details upto 4x working days.
Since its not yet 4x working days for you, perhaps you can try visiting the Branch Manager.

Lastly if still does not work out, Suggest to send written complaint to the State Bank, including the fake note, with all other details, like transaction location and time.
Yes, the State Bank does take action.
