Need Advise of Experts on Mileage Issue with Suzuki Margallah

Later i observed slight missing (which has never happened before). It might be due to loose connection of 1 wire to plug which i suspect. I will get it checked from mechanic if happens again.I am attaching a comparison pic for the wire with the orignal plug wire. Name of the new wire is easily readable as Seiwa. I searched and Seiwa is a japanese brand. Looks ok to me.

i didnt recieve the wires in a packed Seiwa box, instead it was a open set of 5 wires.

Are you sure he sent you seiwa wires, I had them on my car for a couple of years, no good.

The wire started arcing and the connectors started rusting

Your ignition coil seems to be replaced too, can you tell me the brand

i have orignal wires. Since the car is 98 Margalla Plus so the coil is orignal and i know its different.

it will probably be a denso coil

btw you should remove the distributor cap and inspect it, get us photos. I think it would be worn at this age, also replace the rubber seal, otherwise the car won't start after an engine service

Have never faced a starting issue after servicing (which is done periodically). Will take pictures of distributor.

Should i give Seiwa wires another go after installing platinum plugs?? Any suggestion.

Yes the coil is Denso Japan. I checked and my mechanic (who i trust for 2nd generation now - last 25-30 years) told me that this coil is of VXR cultus. If required can be arranged as a Kabli part. Should be fine if working and verified.

Installed new G power platinum plugs and same 8 MM Siewa wires.

intention is to evaluate if there is any improvement in milage.

will report on milage once i fill in the tank. currently car has driven around 380 KM on 1 tank and has reached E sign.Also didnt find Micking Max Super this time. It took Shell guys lot of convincing me to opt for HX 7 (Blue box) 5-30 synthetic oil.will change the oil tomorrow too IA.

seiwa wire can never beat the genuine one

the oil seems too thin to me, keep an eye on the oil level.

Just got the fuel tank brimmed again.

408 KM driven in exactly 33.01 Litres. Milage turns out to be 12.5 KM/L that too on a worn engine oil.

Gonna change the oil and both air and oil filter today. Expecting next milage track to be crossing 14 KM/L INSHA ALLAH.

i hope you get to 14, i believe 13-14 is possible on 10w30, only get the oil that you were using previously, no experiments with an old engine

well i have used almost every reasonable oil available and my rating and experience is mentioned below in respective order with 1 being rated best

1- Micking Max Super Fully Sythetic 10W-40 (retains its viscosity well for 5K KM)
2- SSU S oil Fully Synthetic 10 W-40 (retains its viscosity well for 5K KM)
3- Zic A+ 5W-30 (retains its viscosity well for 2.5K KM)
4- Shell Blue 5W-30 (reduced milage-engine performs normal)
5- Havoline Golden Fully Synthetic (reduced milage - retains its viscosity well for 5K KM)
5- Total 5000 10W-40 Non Synthetic (reduced milage - retains its viscosity well for 5K KM)

Had to switch between all these at different times due to availability constraints.

Best driving experience is Zic A+ (5W-30) however it is not that lasting looses the improvement impact quite fast.

Micking gives an improved pickup feel and retains well for 5K KM so had been using it regularly for last 2-3 years.

when installing plug wires you are supposed to apply a light coat of dielectric grease to the boot internal surfaces it helps in preventing arcs and also prevents the rubber from bonding to the plug.

applying this to coil over plug setup also helps as it can prevent the coil tower from fracture while removing - then our lovely ustaad jee thinks that nitto tape can prevent a 25,000 volt spark - lol

you should use a 10w30 diesel engine oil, the new sn grade oils are not suitable for margalla engines due to lack of required anti wear additives (only needed by old engines).

next topup 416 KM in 33.50 Litres (till I could see the fuel in the inlet hoze).

too bad milage still 12.4 KM/Litre

I never liked shell blue never satisfies me.

Using synthetic oils and never experienced any wear issue. Mainly because of regular maintenance.
