Thank you for the thread you recommended. I'll look into it. As far as Irshad bhai is concerned, I didn't feel any arrogance from him in behaviour or attitude. What I did find strange was the compression test. I asked for the compression test to be done, he notified me beforehand that they take 2000 for the compression test and "it takes about 60-90 mins for compression test". He only did a dry compression test, which hardly took 20-30 mins, and took Rs. 2000 for it. I thought of asking him about it, but ultimately didn't because of a few reasons:
1) I had a prior appointment that day and was runinng a bit short on time.
2) The dry compression test reading was bad enough to warrant a full engine rebuild anyway.
3) Didn't want to get into an argument with the person who would be working on my machine.

It wasn't until later in the day when I got back home that I realized I paid him full amount for a just a dry compression test. I could ask him about the wet compression test on my next visit though.

1. a JDM Mira 2020 used by colleague was recommended for Transmission fluid change. instead of Toyota CVT fluid - Toyota ATF WS was poured by Mushtaq the brother of Irhsad Ahmed. cost 6800 plus 2000 for labor. after about 70 kms usage when complained of rough dragging acceleration he said perhaps the transmission is coming to end you shall consider a swap from kabli. The friend got angry pissed, went to a gear repair guy at lines area gave him the story showed him the fluid container which he retained. immediately the gear guy said oil is wrong. You need CVT oil not ATF-WS. The transmission fluid was immediately drained and Aisin CVT oil was changed. At spot cost Rs. 7000 approx 1.3 litre is still in bottle of 4 liters. Mira is as smooth again as it was before.

2. our office hi-lux was sent for fluid changes. clearly mentioned to use delo-gold engine oil only and Toyota Regular (manual) transmission oil. apart from fluid cost there was an item added as Transmission filter cost Rs. 7000.00 the driver objected asked to provide old one irshad said abhi tou sham ho chuki closing time hai kal lay jana. next morning our driver objected with accounts for bill which has Rs. 5000 as labor and approx 15% higher price for fluids only and an addtional item transmission oil filter. Toyota 3S in past 5 years 285000 kms (vehicle is now 8 years old) never billed for such item. our accounts guy personally went to clarify with fluid prices cross checked. Irshad sb apologise for filter price added as mistake and reduced his service charge to 3000. He did not accept charging the high price of fluids.

3. a professional never FORGET the basic process for compression test . just like since our child hood we never forget to brush teeth in morning. Only Dry Compression test is like we gargle and assume we brushed teeth cheating to mirror.

perhaps due to referrals from PW he is blown_up in pride, instead of being humble, he has become arrogant.

sir sabir has left the automotive AC business he switched and became builder developer in scheme 33 area. the shop at sakhi hasan is managed by his old sidekicks. he is no longer an owner there.

Sabir shows up to the shop in the evening but it is managed by Zahid during the day. I recently had a good experience with Sabir's shop in North Nazimabad and i can still say he's an honest lad.

Can attest to what you're saying. Hafiz has become a cheat, Afzal is just minting money now by replacing parts and doing sub par jobs. Sabir has always been arrogant, but does very good work and once you get along with him, is a genuinely good guy.

But, I have always found someone better in Karachi for these jobs. Better equipped, better at rates and quicker turn around time.

Yes , I am feeling sorry what Jamil autos did you you, I have tested myself too in other job and now come to conclusion that I will try to not recommend Jamil Autos to pakwheelers anymore.
Similarly, I am giving zero poor rating to Mehmood Carburetor, Hafiz Jee meter walay, Afzaal suspension, Sabir A/c Wala shop who are looting or misguiding customers by continuous lying, fraud and arrogant behavior

Was in karachi during eid. Read the above posts regarding irshad and went to him day before yesterday. Told him that people are complaining about your service and behaviour.

He thanked me for letting him know. Then replied k "sir jab me kaam krrha hunga and koi call karega tou yehi bolunga na k baad me call karein abhi busy hun"

But his attitude has been the same since I first went to him 2 years ago.

I also conveyed him k aap k rates boht oper hogae hain. On this , he said k sir lathe wala, parts sab mehnga hogya jai tou mere charges bhi barheinge na

The things i kinda still like about his workshop are 1) cleanliness, 2) 2 cars at a time max, and 3) his and mushtaq's own work rather than training some chhotu. The young child helps only in minor stuff.
