Congrats dear ..... welcome to the club..... I also switched to 4x4 couple of months ago. Though I got myself a jero 2.5 turbo diesel and I must say it was in real good condition. This is what I did .....
Received and checked all lubricants, and then took it to Naraan .... till jheel Saif-ul-Malook and on the way back up to shogran ..... all went good except the hose pipe (heater pipe in/out) got burst as it was weak. It wasnt too much of a headache apart from filling up radiator every now and then for couple of hours and later my cousin came up with the idea of bypassing the heater hose, i.e connected one hose (which was good) to circulate water, it worked well and we reached balakot. So cutting the story short, by all this, I tested my jero and I was happy with the performance.
After the trip, I changed all lubricants, all filters, clutch plate and pressure plate as well (cuz I cud smell the clutch leather especially on the way to jheel) ...... It cost a handsome amount of money to get all GENUINE parts and installation BUT ..... I am much much relaxed now and proud to be an owner of my sparky jero.
Conclusion: You have to lighten your wallet for the first time and in return you will get peace of mind, and always go for genuine spare parts, they are costly but lasts longer.
