The problem with unplanned expansion of tourism, Garbage dumps every where, with only rain and river to take care of it. River banks and roads have become smelly in every town.

if locals want they cane easily do it ..just need a lil effort

Next morning, we had a good breakfast of paratha, chana and egg fries at Poshmal resorts. Today our only

task was to reach Dawarian which is only 13 km from Keran, The base camp for Ratti Gali lake and pass.

Lawat is another town which we passed on the way to Dawarian

In this pic, you can see the main Neelum road and bridge on Ratti gali stream. And the road to Ratti gali

ascending to the right in the valley along the stream.

oh nice ..last time we went ..bridge was not constructed and road was not there ....

It was a beautiful cloudy morning on 13th july. After the early morning showers of rain stopped, we fetched our

bags and came in bazar. Hurriedly took breakfast in a small nearby hotel, and hired a jeep. The usual charges

for this 8-9 km ride were 3000 (one way) but driver agreed on 2.5k.

This ride covers about half of the 18 km distance to the lake.

hummm almost half ...in 2013 when i did this it was all track on foot ..no jeep can go there

We about an hour of this beautiful morning at this rarely visited lake. This lake and Ratti gali can also be visited from Noori top side. If some one has visited it feom that side he can give information about the track, but for sure that will be a beautiful track. We were back at camp site by about 12:00 am

We did not take our own tent, and stayed at tent site set up by locals for tourists.

why didt you camped near lake ?

any idea about the rates of these guest hoses ..in 2014 non of them were providing rooms ..infact only 1 was available for 400 rupees per night ....but was only suitable for males only

Sir just loved it ....i went through all the pics and details ....as its been 2 years i left trekking cuz of a dear friend death

i visited this place like 3 or 4 times

going through these totally recalled my memories

It is just infront of Hans Raj Lake, so we at least had a look at it, or the path that leeds to the top. You can see that sort of "gully" ( a depression in the mountain flanks in some pictures of hans raj lake.

Well, understandably it varies with the time of the year and number of tourists, usually it is between 2-3 thousand per night and now many families were staying there.

Arang Kel is a lush green meadow, with old wooden houses scattered here and there alternating with small corn fields.

It is surrounded by pine forest all around behind which a great mountain wall separates it from indian held area on one side. on the opposite side is a great depression of nearly a thousand feet with river Neelum flowing in full swing in its depths.
