Billi ko chichron key khawab.
None of this is ever likely to happen in the foreseeable future, given the environment in Pakistan.
Keep on dreaming

Should we expect significant decrease in the cost of imported cars in next few months?if yes then imported cars should not be purchased until matter is clarified??
I dont think PKDM mafia like pak suzuki n toyota will allow this to happen n not to mention the so many cars on roads n hence the traffic jams etc ...this policy will never be inplemented on pakistan... its a dream
Now all auto import policy for local manufactures.not for importer now Hybrid custom duty will increase.because of I.M.F.May be now importer can import only 1 year old car.
Dreams are free so dream BIG!
Import duty will be slashed for imported cars in the 2015 - 2016 budget. Here is the voice coming from the government's side:
Pakistan Panel Seeks Import Tax Cut on Cars to Boost Revenue - Bloomberg Business
There is also news about reduction in transfer fee as higher fee has really hampered the auto dealers' business.
Budget will be announced on June 5.
Regards.
Any latest news, anybody please. Thanks and regards.
I'll owe you mithai if what you just shared comes true.
its not a speculation not a dream. its a proposal and good one this time for the customer if this proposal accepted and part of the budget 2015-16 then car industry flourished and new entrants also come in Pakistan.
Any update about its acceptance?

The update remains the same: ZERO chance. Zero, zilch, nada, nothing.
PKDM cars may get cheaper.
KARACHI: With the expected cut in duties on completely knocked down (CKD) units in the upcoming budget, car prices in Pakistan are likely to be reduced by the Japanese automakers. According to JS Research analyst Syed Atif Zafar, a likely cut in duties on CKD units in the upcoming auto policy will be passed on to the consumers, lowering prices of cars and in turn potentially lifting their demand.

Car prices likely to reduce over expected duty cut on CKD kits
What will be the impact on local cars after new auto policy? I m planning to book a toyota corolla, but my friend suggested me to stop till 31th juste, situation will be clear more, what shouldni do? Plz suggest
Mohtaram @vtecyo Sahib,I heard the same news last year that duty on CKDs would be slashed significantly and the contrary turned out to be the case; cars became even more expensive. I wish this is not true this time and duties and taxes are indeed slashed in the upcoming budget.
My fear is that the next budget will bring no benefit to the common man just like every budget in the past. I hope my fears don't turn out to be true. Maloom nahin hamaray awaam kay liyay kub subah taluh ho gee.
There has not been any change in the auto import policy in today's budget speech. Things are where they were yesterday. We'll have to wait for the auto policy to be announced later. When will it come? No one knows.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.
I think the hype for the lowering of car prices has gone with the budget. As some PWs already said that it was highly unlikely that such proposals be implemented
Govt today has increased the registration duty for new cars in Pakistan. So much for reducing and relaxing duties on vehicles
