I think the Indian Version has the proper and balanced three box look.

Actually the AVEO that is present in the MIDDLE EAST WILL BE INTRODUCED in INDIA!!!

BUT IN HATCH BACK (5 DOOR) VERSION!!!!

It will be called CHEVROLET U-VA

Shown below are the pics of the CHEVROLET U-VA which is also called as KALOS in other parts of the world and which is SIMILAR TO THE CHEVROLET AVEO available in MIDDLE EAST.
(SAME PRODUCT DIFFERENT NAMES)

LOOKS LIKE THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DISSAPPOINTED.
Since the three box Chevrolet AVEO is priced at 5.5 lakhs the latest U-VA can safely expected to be priced at around 4 LAKHS!!!

27,000 RIYALS means Rs.3,21,552 (Indian Rupees)!!!!

Thats unbelievable. More so because the AVEO will be manufactured in INDIA, thereby it should have the lowest price in INDIA. Certainly Cars are not manufactured in MIDDLE EAST.

Chevy Aveo is basically a Korean Car, made and designed by Daewoo of Korea, under the GM brand. So, its basically Korean technolody. We also have seen its sister car Daewoo Racer in Pakistan, which is now selling for Rs. 2 Lakh 1990s model in Pakistan. Altough a nice car, it did not gain the market's confidence, due to parts availability, and other issues, (introduced as taxi cab).

I know very well that it's a DAEWOO product and since both DAEWOO and CHEVROLET is owned by GM, GM sells all products of DAEWOO under the CHEVROLET brand all over the world.

The only exception being in SOUTH KOREA where it still sells the DAEWOO car under the DAEWOO badge (reason: Koreans rarely buy anything but korean made cars)

Be it SPARK (which was DAEWOO MATIZ), or OPTRA (which was DAEWOO NUBIRA).

THESE PRODUCTS are execellent and have execellent reputation worldwide since they are contemporary creations of DAEWOO.

Come on, the Saudi Price can't be less than the Indian Price. We all know how rich are those Sheiks. Also those cars are not produced in SAUDI but will be produced in India.

Which is Highly unlikely since it is a product from GM (which is the LARGEST AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURER of the world) and GM will leave no stones unturned to make profit out of their investment.

If priced right it has no reason to fail, be it INDIA or PAKISTAN.

Customers of both countries rate VALUE FOR MONEY as the most important criteria for making a costly purchase like a car. Exterior looks doesn't matter that much to them.

VALUE FOR MONEY= (INITIAL AMOUNT + FUEL EFFICIENCY) / (AFTER SALES EXPENDITURE)

HOW ELSE CAN U EXPLAIN THE PREHISTORIC LOOKING MEHRAN IN PAKISTAN AND THE MARUTI-SUZUKI 800 STILL PLYING ON THE ROADS IN BOTH INDIA AND PAKISTAN???

you r taikin about fuel efficient than city is a fuel efficient..good lookin..as for price of aveo this is for begnig than it price will incease in pakistan spare pats of chevy are not avaible on all shops.as for MehRAn or Muroti 800 it is disapering from big cities now very few people are left who buys mehran some people took
mehran as secondary car you for childers..Not as family car...

The availability of spares for GM isn't an issue in INDIA. GM has a wide network in INDIA and its afer sales service and spares are quite cheaply available.

Regarding Price increase Later:
The Indian car market in very very competitive. The competition is quite intense. If any car is overpriced compared to competition, then customers will move on to it's competitiors.
This is one reason why cars of the same model is cheaper in INDIA compared to PAKISTAN.
Also in INDIA customers can walk in a showroom and get is car delivered his car in a single day. In case a model has a waiting period of even a few weeks, the customer will move on to a competitors product. Thus companies try to achieve 0 days waiting period.

About MEHRAN dissappearing from PAKISTAN:
I visited paksuzuki's website and it proclaimed that the MEHRAN was still the largest selling car in PAKISTAN. Maybe the mehran is dissappearing from Cities but it seems to be selling strong in rest of PAKISTAN.

In India the sales of MARUTI 800 has drastically dwindled. It was ousted from it leadership position which it held for 20 years by another MARUTI product, the ALTO. In Feb, the sales of the ALTO touched a record high of 15,000 cars in one month. The INDICA was second at 12,000 cars. The 800 was relegated to 5'th or 6'th position with sales of about 5000 or 6000 cars.

The 800 is being slowly but surely replaced. And it will be totally stopped production in a year.

For your Info..All the Cars are priced over the roof in India (Only bettered in Pakistan)...

Cars in the mid east are cheap..since there are no taxes..and there is no devaluation of currency...

Please dont be demoralized at Mideast prices..(Since Cars are more expensive in Singapore than India due to highter taxes)here is a list of prices in mideast:

Hyundai Accent (Local 25000)- Indian (INR) 3 Lacs - In India 6 Lacs

Hyundai Tucson (Local 44000)- Indian 6.0 Lacs- In India 14 Lacs

Toyota Corolla (Local 52000)- Indian 7.5 Lacs- In India 11 Lacs

and Most Outrageous:

Toyota Landcruiser Prado ( Local 111000)- Indian 16 Lacs...Actual in India 35 Lacs..

Hyundai and Cheverolet suffer from Poor image in the mideast..and no one buys them...also Chevy is actually Daewoo..and Aveo is Sedan version of Daewoo Matiz..so its acutally a little car platform..

Hyundai is able to market itself as a good technological marvel ONLY IN INDIA..in the gulf it sells as a tinsheet cheap-cr*p alternative to reliable japanese cars..First of all the Koreans Hyundai Kia and Daewoo are dirt cheap and they still give further discounts..

How about this??

By a Hyundai and start paying installments after 4 months..and there is a definite buy back guarantee after 2 years (Since no one else will buy your second hand)...

U urself said prices are low in MIDDLE EAST due to absence of Import Duties. Well India cannot afford to do away with Import Duties and so cannot Pakistan. Both the countries has to encourage the setting up of manufacturing units here itself therefore has to impose duties.

The ARABS has no other option but to allow import since there is no raw material to manufacture cars there.

Also the CHEVY'S which are basically DAEWOO might suffer from a image problem in MIDDLE EAST because the people there are rich because of their OIL. They can afford better cars.

This is not the case for both INDIA and PAKISTAN. The money is HARD EARNED here and therefore our customers are extremely VALUE CONSCIOUS and an investment in a car is still an expensive affair.

The DAEWOO might not have a great deal of Value to the Sheiks of MIDDLE EAST but to both the nations of INDIA and PAKISTAN it will take quite an effort to reach to that same level of engineering excellence that the SOUTH KOREANS have achieved.

PAKISTAN has started it's journey with the REVO while INDIA has made some progress in the form of INDICA, SCORPIO, BAJAJ and TVS Bikes.

How fast we reach there is upto us now!!!
