New civic's pros n cons?

truly its Honda so its comfy and i agree on the point that the price is just tooo high, i mean u can get an accord cl7 in dat or a gud reconditioned mark2,otherwise shapewise its gr8.In fuel economy i have heard that its a bit bad.

nabeel bro u r not gonna find a cl7 below 15000km anyways , if 1 is gonna put money then why not which reads zero on its meter when u first drive it ?

btw heres my 2 cents

the rear shelf used to vibrate , cuz noise
on another car, the driver lock came lose
on another, some rubber seals had problem ( not covered in warranty )

civic rocks no doubt, its the atlas which sucks.

goodness me i am posting a topic after very long time

we bought a civic later in 2006
drove it for 5000 kms
,, after that we had it installed with CNG kit which according to me is successful till now ,, giving us 110-115 kms with 55 kg cylinder ,, and with a miniature deterioration of speed and acceleration of about 15%

well i think that its much better than the older civic models ,
very comfortable in accordance with both aspects ,, the driver and the passenger comforts ,
much less bumpy than the older models
truely a family car, my nephews love it ,lolz,
spacious ,,
easily can be concluded as the best car in mid range ,

but it is not for those who dont opt for insurance after making such investments,, its spare parts are very expensive ,,
ofcourse not that economical when you dont have CNG installed

apart from that we had an option of buying CL7 or CL9 ,, but again the disadvantages of genuine spares and CNG complications held us back ,, but in theworld of honda its a common perception that its interior is better than both of them ,, only the engine makes the price difference ,

After owning it for about a year, here's my feedback:

Pros:
- Elegant looking car, slap on huge rims and it looks really nice.

• Interior and exterior are both excellently finished, it is comparible to any imported car. People might tell you otherwise, but I'm telling you to not listen to such rubbish.

• The car is very quick, especially in M/T

• Fuel efficiency within the city with AC is about 9.5km/l, which is great for an 1800CC engine.

• The car feels big and luxurious for an economy sedan

• Very smooth ride, the rear suspension is awesome unlike the 7th gen's jerky rear. The double wishbone is worth it (y)

• Safety features like ABS, EBD, SRS, plus the crash rating is great

• Road grip and the handling around the corners is very good but thats true for most Hondas.

• Drive-by-wire, a first for Pakistani assembled cars

• Feature set is great:

  • Alloy wheels
  • Retractable sideview mirrors with blinkers
  • Sunroof
  • Digital speedometer
  • A dozen interior lights
  • Elegant and different interior illumination
  • Auto locking from factory
  • Dual tip exhaust looks great
  • Fog lights
  • Decent sound system out of the box
  • Convenience options like door pockets and storage
  • The steering wheel feels great, plus its tilt + telescope

• The price is high, but I consider that a pro rather than a con. Keeps your car from becomming too common

• The car doesn't suffer from torque steer, quite noticible in other cars bearing the same specifications

Cons:

• The pillars are too fat, can cause blind spots if you drive with the seat all the way to the back.

• On the M/T, the drive-by-wire is very sensitive so it takes getting used to, to avoid jerky starts

• Do not ever lose the keys lol (long story, not getting into it)

• Pakistani version is missing the controls on the steering wheel.

• If you install a Trakker, there will be some dashboard noises which take some effort to get out

• On the premium fabric version, the interior gets dirty. So it needs shampoo / maintenance every month unless you have seat covers

• The dashboard is huge so it causes reflections in the windshield, its not a big deal once you get used to it. Though once you get used to driving it, you cannot go back to driving other cars (seriously).

• Rear seat can make creaking noises if its not bolted back down properly, so if you install a sound system, be sure to install it back properly.

^ whts ur height? none of the reviewers hav complained abt the low level of the roof, instead the praised the engineering witchcraft which enabled Honda engineers to eliminate the hump in the middle makin rear as flat as possible n a true 5 seater ...

I can't call it a con, thats the roofline of the car. Unless you're Alam Channa's relative, the roof wont hit you. At 6 feet, when I'm in the rear seat it doesn't feel like an issue to me. Moreover I've had friends as tall as 6'5" in the car who have yet to complain

If you look at the car overall, its cut low, thats just how the aerodynamics are. Sports cars usually have such roof-lines, and although the R18 version isn't a sports car, its good to have a sporty feeling anyway

This sunday i had a chance of driving cylestine's civic for quiet some time and ironically the day before that i.e. saturday night i have had my hands on a brand new altis (under 3000 km on oddo) for some time

Corolla

• Feels big
• Pick is good
• Cheaper than civic
• Soft seats
• Ride was bumpy
• I was scared of brakes (brakes were not that bad as that of xli but still the fear factor was there)
• Ride height

Civic

• Much better ride quality
• Throttle response was awesome
• Good brakes
• Awesome interior (in comparison to corolla)
• Hard bucket seats
• Was afraid of hitting speed bumps coz the car was giving me illusion of being too low (note i said illusion its not THAT low but certainly lower than altis)
• Expensive, if only this was around 11'ish (basic) and 13'ish (Oriel) than i would had gone for it with my eyes closed
