The Corolla Warranty booklet says that warranty of the vehicle would be void in case CNG is fitted in the vehicle. However, Toyota dealerships install CNG kits, and the warranty stays.

I seriously doubt that Toyota Indus has got anything to do with Toyota Japan. They just have couple of Japanese in the management team. To my mind, Toyota symbolizes QUALITY ... they have been the market leaders for setting quality standards (currently ZERO DEFECT MANAGEMENT) .. Toyota Indus has no relation with the word Quality.

What does CNG has to do with a status symbol, Toyota Indus is totoaly driven by Toyota Japan,

They wernt allowed CNG so no CNG, Same is the case with the imported cars line up. like the auto Terious is striped down, While the manual ones have some additional options.

As far as status, more then 70 atleast 60% of Corollas are on after market CNG and get out of warranty, being in warranty would help the buyers and the sellers side by side.

.............Does anyone know whether Toyota's dropping the diesel variant or introducing the 1.4L D4D one? Coz all 2.0D models have instant delivery with no premium or freight charges whatsoever.

Can't it be due to no sales? I've hardly seen any diesel Corolla in this shape except for one in my sector.

Introducing ZR engine in upcoming Corolla variants may increase price and would deprive Indus of its large profit margin but, it is afterall going to boost sales and make it a competitive product. The ZR engines are norms in every other market.

1) If a dealer offers you such a deal, its totaly the dealers offer, The company isnt responsible.

2) Toyota Indus motors is being run by Toyota Japan. (another reason we didnt get the Terius auto tranny in a loaded version (people prefer manual cars here)

well even in europe n uk diesel is more expensive than petrol but still it sell like a hot cake coz these new diesel engine got better fuel average compare to petrol engine....1.4 D4D can give u 18km/l while 2.0D give u 11 or 12km/l....only one we have prob is our diesel is not gud quality compare to other countries

No, i guess it was 2005-06. Base models of civic, lancer and corolla were available for 8 lacs and some thousand. Cars were cheap that time. Top of the line variants were for 11-12 lacs.

its not CNG which is status symbol, its Toyota Corolla which is "so called" a status symbol ....... well, in my opinion, Toyota and Honda were "supposed" to be owned by those who can "afford" petrol too (which generally is not the practice)

Is that the reason that the civic is sold with natural gas in us and Japanese markets?

think about it new corolla has problems on cng, whether a lambda or an SIS fitted variant is launched atleast ill buy one...and so would many people out there

No, i guess it was 2005-06. Base models of civic, lancer and corolla were available for 8 lacs and some thousand. Cars were cheap that time. Top of the line variants were for 11-12 lacs.

recall, the car prices were prety much stable untill 08 feb, started going mad after mar-08

we booked a Corolla 08, Somewhere Jan/Feb for 980, till it was deliverd in march, the prices had went upto 11.50

As some one mentioned, the booking of all Altis 1.8 variants has finaly stoped, and a Indus motor represtative also said the engine is the ZR,

Discontinuation of the 1.8 Variants makes it quite positive that the ZR engine is coming. As i dont think they would be going for something they discontinued, around 6 years back, but as the 2NZ and 2C are still being used they can go back to 3zz, to increase the profit margin, and maintain prices.

I got CNG installed in my new Gli in August 2010 by Toyota Islamabad Motors. It gave some problems due to a faulty emulator, but they replaced it free of cost, and now my car has been running trouble free. However, it is my observation that my car runs best on CNG in Islamabad, as it gets the gas supply from Gujjar Khan, which has higher BTU value than other parts of the country. I often travel to Lahore .. I use CNG for going to Lahore, but in Lahore and on my way back, I use petrol.

and what about those CNG problems with new corolla vvti engines which were talk of the town?

a very nice and good initiative taken by toyota.....it was the need of the hour....thanx god they are resolving this issue

^ Cant realy comment on the CNG, the 2nz in the previus GEN corolla was very gud. But people say its not the same in the 10th GEN Corolla with a 2NZ Vvti, DBW,

So what ever the new engine is, its going to be DBW too.

The CNG kit is also going to be more or less the SIS kit probably.

Lets keep fingers crossed. And hope for the better.
