I don't think so, Altis will come again in 1.6 and what will be the difference between 1.6 GLI and 1.6 Altis if they launch 1.8 Altis too. May be a manual 1.6 Altis?

Seriously, Toyota has no new plans. If they want to make Altis successful. They should introduce new shape for it like City and Civic.

If altis will only be introduced with immobilizer than this can seriously effect the sales of gli/xli.Toyota should play very carefully not everyone can buy their expensive altis.

Even the current model of Corolla was available in both 1.6 Gli and 1.6 Altis.
Gli 1.6 was auto, whereas Altis 1.6 was available in auto as well as manual.
Difference is not much. Same body, same engine. Altis has just some more accessories.
However, the new Corolla Gli, as per current info, will be 1.3L, both auto and manual.

no 1.3 auto i can safely say..
if indus comes up with 1.3 auto it would be a super duper flop..
it wud b like dragging a heavy body

the dealers have said the launch date to be 15th July but looking at the preparations i think its just around the corner..
for Altis to be a superhit, it needs to have all the goodies our neighbor India has like push start, smart key, paddle shift, auto anti glare mirror, new alloys etc..

A Brandnew car with such a grande shape and dimensions even bigger than premio and a price tag of around 17 lacs ( talking about xli here )
It will lead the market in sales no doubt about that
This is the best option for most of the ppl looking for a reliable family sedan at a reasonable price

The goodies must include safety features as well. At least dual airbags in all variants. These are mandatory by law in many countries whereas the other extras are just added things.

Don't agree. GLI can be a good family car. And if XLI touches 17 lacs nobody will buy it if you have City in less than in price thats too with good goodies
