Pak Suzuki is a keen follower of Malik Riaz strategy... introduce a new product at substantially higher price so that the older similar product looks damn attractive and people flock to buy that and then the price of old increases as well. Swift prices will be increased at least by 50k-100k which will then make people believe that this new Cultus is now cheaper and hence an attractive buy. So both Swift and Cultus will be selling like before at higher prices.
Guys in Atlas and Indus will be watching all this and when the gap of Swift prices with City and XLI would become too narrow, it will give them opportunity to raise the prices of their respective cars (along with introducing a 'mighty' new back light). Brilliant marketing strategies for the poor public that has no choice but to just accept this 3 car oligopoly.
