not before 2025 , that too if brain dead customs department is willing to understand the difference between an Electric, Hybrid & ICE vehicle. To classify / segregate the customs duty slab to SLAP over.

Yeah I agree with your statement but question is that , how long costum department of Pakistan defend the revlotion of cars against the fuel cars. Definitely they should surrender against the revolution.

it is about education, willingness to accept change and having positive approach to bring a change.

Till 26 09 2019 vehicle smugglers are lobbying to lift / remove money trail requirement for money laundering and get legal cover to smuggle write-off junked scrapped vehicles from Japanese yards., while the local automotive industry is in coma, top brands are under NonProductiveDays.

It is about collective national approach not about any single entity or institution.

Also about infrastructure, currently there is dead and ancient electric grid across pakistan and all major cities flood after some gentle rains.

I would suggest people invest in gondolas and small duck hunting boats rather than any electric car.

@Xulfiqar Yes I saw some Tesla in Lahore, Islamabad and I know they are expensive. I shared my view as hope and at some point there are possiblities of change. But till then we should hunt some positive thoughts

Xulfiqar bhai the electric cars are very good for city use. In my city there is electricity 24 hours. So its a good option . U r an expert and can guide us better

do you have a support system to maintain them too? and parts supplies etc?

As in electric cars there is no engine n gear box so very less maintenance will b required. And electric motors dont require any significant maintenance. i think due to low cost of use people in pakistan will convert most of their cars from petrol n diesel to electric.

nice pipe dream in Pakistan, I can foresee a muppet laktrishann trying to repair a safety battery terminal (BST) with a hammer or pliers and eventually causing a fire that makes human tikka.

electric cars do require maintenance and quite a lot of it (steer/drive/suspension/cooling) as they are built at the very edge of saving weight.

That's what I thought in 2019. When no one is ready to imagine electric cars future in Pakistan. I am Happy to see the change.( For New readers please read whole thread to know the conversation of all respected members who contributed in this thread.)

Still a pipe dream,

They have zero after sales support. What will you do when you need a new set of brake discs, wheels and chassis parts if you smash it?

Or if an electric unit like gauges or ac parts or the braking hydraulics fail due to manufacture faults or damage or wear?

Any machine is useless with no after sales support, same reason massey ferguson tractors are “kamyaab” while john deere and ford tractors are “fail” in Pakistan.

Cannot get any simpler than that.
