this (most probably) means that the R18 engine shud b a bolt on fit in the local pakistani honda city... i hope sumone out here tries it out...

lol u know what, yesturday it suddenly clicked in my mind that to sell my civic04 and buy new city and then sell its 1.3ltr engine and get a R18 engine for it bdw does anyone of u know how much a R18 series engine wud cost and for how much the original city engine wud go for?

haven't got any idea of the swap, Cylestyne might be able to guide you.. but since Chinese have managed to put the R18 in City, I am quite sure it will be possible....

Issue with the swap (in our local city) would be the engine mounts. You would have to fabricate them, not to mention fabricate the transmission mount.

Its easily possible though. I bet a good unmolested R18A may be available with transmission for about 100k+ ?

I dont see the point of the swap locally, you buy a new City for about 1.4+ million with registration; then spend about 200k+ swapping the engine out. So the car costs you 1.6million, which can buy you a 2007-2008 Vti Oriel in good condition.

You also loose out on the superb suspension, better interior, airbags, etc just to get a City with an oversized engine?

new city cost 12290000+ 13 wid all docmnents then come on the point 1 lacks 80 somthing r18 costs you better put k24 in city then u would be enjoy rath puting in city

what about civic? if city is with 1.8 engine what engine is there in chinese civic?

another interesting thing which i came to know recently is that Honda has ventures with two different companies in China, Guangzhou Auto Industry Group (GAIG) & Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DMC)... with GAIG offering Honda Odyssey, Accord, Fit & City, the DMC offers CRV, Spirior & Civic in their lineup.. so the 1.8 offered with GAIG Honda City has got something to create a competition with 1.8 DMC Honda Civic.. God knows! strange isnt it

ok bro i think the brandnew city costs b/w 11-12lacs as far as i know may be im wrong. so as u mentioned that a r18 engine qud cost 100k+. so how much wud the brandnew engine of the city wud go for if some1 wants to sell it off? and how much does are the labour charges for the swap?

anyways, i think u should try the r18a conversion in a city if possible and if ur budget allows u to do it.it wud be hell of a fast city...
