In my opinion, the budget is coming and prices will HAVE to go down of cars at least in this budget(probably government has only cars where they can decrease the process and for other things, they will ONLY increase)..So Toyota and Honda are just making strategic move to make sure they do NOT get into any sort of less-profit situation!

Be optimistic guys(BUT we have NO reason to be...)

No options actually. It will only increase the import of Axio's and the likes which will greatly harm the countries GDP.
Plus Axio like cars are not admired by everyone.
Their JDM advantage can be over looked by their ugly exterior styling.

bro, switch on the news channels and listen to whats cooking up for new budget
subsidy from food products, electricity, fuel to be completely removed. 12% inflation expected. everything will shoot up sky high (though everything is out of reach already including cars )

Well-yes, the prices of all other general commodities will certainly sky-rocket...But I have a notion prices of cars will drop down(something to show-off that "WE"(the government) have dropped down the prices of "certain" things)...

I got my Honda City AT (MASHALLAH) on the 21st by paying 20k as on. The company price was 1480K, so that comes to around 1500k in total. At the moment, one Honda dealership is offering an auto City in Lapis Blue, old invoice of 1480K and asking 83K as ON. No auto City available with navigation whose price is now Rs 1565K.

Manual City price has now increased from 1337 to 1372 and cars are being offered at old invoice of 1337K+35K as ON money. There was just one manual City with navigation in polish metal whose price was 1397K plus 55K as on.

Just thought of adding info with the potential buyers.

inflation is much more than 12%, thats just a figure to keep us calm, i personally think its aomewhere around 17-19%
in 2009-10 inflation was 15%

and all the reserves which the state bank claims is 17billion dollars, thats also a fake, actually our reserves are much much less than that, under 10billion dollars..
every number is manipulated.

honda booking period has gone up from 1.5 to 2.5 months and increase more as honda factory is getting closed in may.can any one tell me why is it closing?may be for maintance or facefilt.one thing sure is that cars prices will again increase after budget i-e 28 may 2011.

These new rates are applicable to new bookings only and not for those who booked the cars but havnt received the cars..like me...as per Atlas' website the price at the time of delivery applies

• The FED was increased from 1% to 2.5% on March 15th by presidential ordinance..if not endorced will be rolled back automatically on May 15th...please correct me if i am wrong..Should we expect this reduction on May 15th ?
• The budget is coming on May 28th? It will be applicable from July 1st? I mean if prices are increased due to some new TAX etc; the new rates will be applied from date of announcement or from July 1st? Whats the news / rumor; how much prices are increasing after budget?
• Any news / rumor about change in registration charges of the car in budget ?

Honda Pakistan has updated its website. The price of Honda City Manual Transmission is 1,369,000 Rs and price of Honda City Automatic Transmission is 1,505,000 Rs.

Just coming back from Honda Showroom near Saddar Rawalpindi. The delivery period of Honda City manual transmission is 3 months after the booking. If you want immediate delivery then 70,000 Rs is premium.
Now if I book the car right now, it will be delivered in September. And if the car prices increase in this budget, then I will have to pay increased price. So should I buy the car right now with premium or book the car? Your suggestions would be appreciated. Any idea of car prices after this budget?

Honestly, get a slightly used City right now.

Prices are definitely gonna increase. And you will end up paying 14.5+ lacs after registeration and all.
Otherwise, if you book now or later, means the same thing.

I don't change my vehicles soon. I bought brand new Khyber in 2000 and it is still with me. So I wanted a complete peace of mind by buying a brand new car and be its first owner. You can never be so sure about second hand cars. People are so smart, they just hide the repainted areas in such a way that even mechanics are mistaken.
