So if get it right it means that it is alright for a company to start taking bookings without declaring the following:

1) Price of the vehicle
2) Accessories (if any other than engine)
3) delivery time

Honda was the first one i think who started this practice in Pakistan with Honda Civic. You have tagged other members so will wait for their input but this practice looks shady to me because how can you start taking bookings for a product that is not there for people to make a decision. Its like shooting in the dark.
The least they can do is to launch a brochure listing price and features that one will get so that person making booking knows exactly what he's getting for the money that he pays.

I called two suzuki dealerships today. They said alto will be available at the showroom from 15th June. Also, upon release, there will be 20 thousand own otherwise wait 3 months for delivery.

When I call up a dealership and hear them say “On” I make it a point to shame them to the point of apology. It all depends on us, when someone asks for On just say no and leave, a week later the same salesman will call you back. But If you have to pay the extra then no one can stop you.

With the expected price of alto between 1.2 and 1.4 million, And the alluring budget, trust me Suzuki people would be lucky if they sell off this crap without a discount.

Our market is apprehensive about a 660cc engine car, it’s not concerned with how much HP the engine makes. It will be a whole year before the market accepts the new alto. Moreover picanto and pearl will position their products in response to the product appeal of alto.. so one may safely expect a lot of competition and value for money in the entry segment which was by far dominated by Suzuki due to the lowest price point, where amenities become irrelevant. But with other cheaper products offering more value, the new alto may well have to struggle before finding a sweet spot between the market tested wagonR and the promising low price entry variants. It will be a severe miscalculation to extrapolate mehran sale performance to the higher price point. In 825,000 I think Mehran still offers more value than the alto priced at 1.2-1.4 million.

Sir i beg to differ. Our nation has got a blind trust on suzuki, toyota and honda. They will buy even if a donkey is sold to them in name of a car with their TAG on them. This alto will be a huge success even if the quality is not upto par. They would have bought same Mehran for next 4 decades if it wasn't discontinued.

For your fathers daily driver. If you have a decent JDM in sight definetly go for it.

You can already get parts. And after the local cars launch you would definitely get better access of parts.

Driving a cvt would be better then an AGS any day. The basic variants in Japanese Alto comes with the same AGS technology. Since you are eyeing a S variant it's considered the top of the line with all bells and whistles.

To add to it, Japanese built quality and peace of mind.

I my self was eyeing a 5000km driven S grade Suzuki alto which was on port but due to documentation the car was later auctioned by the FBR.

So for now I'm holding my decision against Alto and waiting for picanto or the AGS WagonR.

If not I'd finance a XLi AT for home use. (Yes its 2.2 million compared to alto at 1.4 milliom) but I'd finance it for a longer period maybe 🤷‍♂️

JDM Alto S variant however does not have immobilizer. Thats only available in the X variant.

Modern cars have crumple zones, their purpose is to absorb the impact and keep the people inside the cabin safe. From all the things to criticise you chose the most terrible one. As for the picture, someone in the forums said this damage was done to the car while shipping.

I m using alto ene charge L package
it has much more options as compare to local alto
like ene charge
eco idle
traction control
light adjustment
heated seat
glowing meter which changes colors and looks quite amazing as compare to local one
I have L package which doesn't have retractable mirror
upper grade varients have retractable mirror , rear viper , and anti collusion system
so I would recommend you to find a good 4-5 grade jdm alto with original auction sheet low mileage
yes local alto have 3 years warranty and peace of mind of a new car

Bro import was closed 7 months ago.
Finding a a genuine is near impossible now since all good ones have been sold. Only accident crap is left in the market.
I have extensively searched the whole rawalpindi and islamabad area and no genuine one is available anymore.
It will be the same in other cities

I think import is not closed but it has been made more difficult. I recently saw Vezels and CHRs leaving the port area in Karachi. So maybe importers are not bringing in cars in large numbers due to the more difficult procedure.
