New way to grab money or genuine needy people

thats what they usually do here in KSA.. Specially in ramadan..
and most of the time diff families..
on petrol pumps
or outside sum famous food chain (AL-baik)

The origin of this activity might be in Data Darbar, Lahore. You will find many people there asking you same story that they have to go to gujranwala and few rupees are less in their fare etc. Now the same community might also improved their status and buy cars and doing these activities.

Students that are going to Iqra Uni. in Karachi beware. There is a Rickshaw driver who usually stands outside the premises waiting for student passengers. Upon boarding the the rick, he tells them of a sad story of how he is looking after a neighbor who got in an accident recently and lost his leg, etc. He will then ask you for some money for that neighbor. DO not trust him and do not give him money. He is a con. Guess how I know?? :-#

I gave him money one time. A couple of days went by and I had the opportunity of getting into his rick again. I had forgotten about the whole pitiful story and it was like a bolt of lightening had hit me, he started with his routine "aik guzarish arz karon, aap naraz tou nahin honge?? mera aik parosi hai etc etc etc..." and I thought to myself son of a b***h I got scammed!!!

Thanks all for ur views, but this is very sad that such people make us believe that every body who comes to you for help is a fraud and may be there are some genuine people who need help and due to such charecters they will hardly get any help.It also shows the level of moral degradation which has occurred in our society where some people are exploiting the noble human emotions for their own greedy ends.

Huh...have encountered such people often...NEVER game them a single penny...I dont even listen to them...

At traffic lights people on bikes, walking along their bike, will come to me, knock on my window (I will NEVER open my window for them)...but they will start talking anyway and I will hear them saying 'bike mein petrol khatam ho gaya hai...thorey pese de dein...etc etc'...I will just drive on green light without answering them...

Some people will come to your car and start pointing towards your tire...to make you open your window and ask them whats wrong...and when you open your window, they will start begging you for money...

Sometimes a whole family will come to you with their kids, with luggage in their hand..and say they missed the bus...they dont have money...they have to go to etc etc place...they need money...

Well...I have never been fooled by any of these Pakistani bhais.

it happens all around the world.similar thing happens to me in london.i was out for some work in woolwich area.a sikh approached me and told me that he has just got released from jail by immigration authorities on charges of illegal stay even showed me release letter,and he has to reach leeds to join sum friends for shelter.he requested me to give 25 pounds to reach victoria coach station and then to leeds.i decided to gave a thought to his request and asked him to have a drink with me just to think over his request in the mean while.he kept on talking about his mazlomiat n stuff.i decided to go along with him to victoria coach and get him a ticket.i was free that day so,i thought in this way i would be able to kill some time.but he was reluctant in accepting my offer.at the end i gave him an extra travel card with 2 or 3 pounds credit enabling him to reach victoria which i usually keep with me.and he left
On my way back to home i was feeling sorry for that person.

Now the interesting and funny part
After 3 4 months i was in wandsworth with a friend and saw that same sikh.i deliberately passed with him,and he started telling me the same story,in return i said OYE TERA TIN MAHINAYAN TU KARAYA KATHA NAI HOYA,PAYDAL CHALA JANDA TY HUN PONCH JANDA.he realised that he approached the wrong person.i hold him with one hand n gave him a dose of some REAL FILTHY PUNJABI GALIYAN and later took out my phone to call police.but let him go after full izzat afzai.
Moral:Such things happens all around the world,stay mentally alert and enjoy such thugs

I faced exact same situation but in a lil different manner.
July 2009, I was on my way from Lahore to DIKhan. After crossing Faisalabad , Jhang and Atarahazari when I hit the road in desert where u can hardly find any man or car, some construction work was going on the road and speed was like 10 or 15 when a red santro coming from opposite side blew horn and 2 men with women n kids in the back seat waving hands , I stopped the car and they brought thr car closer. As a precaution I pulled my 9 mm out from the door pocket of the car and disengaged its safety catch but didnt show it to them. The man on bringing his car aside with mine narrated same story as the guy n ladies told u with slight variations and seeing thr dressing etc I couldnt even imagine that it can be a scam, I gave them 500 PKR but they were asking for more . I estimated the distance as they told they were going to faisalabad and told them that ptrl woth 500 ll be enough for em so they said thanks and went off.

PS I was travelling alone, I ll not recommend stopping on such call in a deserted place being all alone.

This same happened to me but in hyderabad and the PUNCH line was same , "aik guzarish arz karon, aap naraz tou nahin honge??"

Sdogar bhai, Lahore is full of such con artistes. Now what is the probably of two of a family "mugged" the same day at two different locations on the same day? But i never quit trying to help people, every time ending up thinking another good deed got wasted as the promise people make never got fulfilled.
