I wasn't convinced about getting it cut open and clean so I asked him not to do it this way.
I unfortunately had to force Irshad to scan the car prior doing anything and he did. P0171 lean code still appeared and then he was somehow convinced it wasn't a choked catalytic but could be weak fuel pump, clogged injectors or dirty MAF sensor. Then I asked him to run STFT and LTFT tests and they were not optimal as LTFT was around 25% which seems to be maxed out and STFT was around 5-9% which indicates that there's surely an issue with air/fuel ratio mixture.
Unfortunately he did not have gauge to check fuel pump pressure from the fuel line which was surprising so couldn't conclude that fuel pump needs replacement. Still I asked him to open and check the pump. Looked for a replacement fuel pump but as the markets and roads were closed down, couldn't get a replacement today.
Can anyone please help where I can get my fuel pump pressure checked in Karachi?
I don't know why but Irshad also seemed a bit clueless as I had to guide him in most parts.
We put back in the fuel pump and as I paid my previous mechanic already and this error came in afterwards his tuning, I had back to him. He again reopened intake, fuel injectors, TB, etc and re fit those to make those there isn't any vacuum leak. Not sure Irshad didn't opt for the vacuum leaks.
After putting back things again, car didn't seem to accelerate much, even worst than before. Then my old mechanic cleaned the MAF sensor and put it back, sprayed some carb cleaner inside air intake and car acceleration came back alive.
After all this, he concluded that fuel pump seems to be weak and it needs replacement; he also didn't have gauge to check the pressure which should be above 45 PSI till 50 PSI if I am correct.
Let's see what happens after the fuel pump replacement. Hoping for the best, InshAllah.
I am going to change the CVT fluid this week too, can you guide how many liters are required?
