you need to connect the one wire coming from the ECU to the switch and the other wire from the switch is ground. I believe it will be a clustered ground near the wiper motor or the shock tower.

Test the system first, by applying ground through a test lamp to the wire, and then wirout test lamp, the system should work. Once done - wire it up.

It is the pressure switch, but it is showing a blue wire and a white wire with green strip.

It is combined with further two wires, which are going to the brake servo for brake oil pressure i think, as you can see in the pic.

and both these wires are going to the main wiring AKA SMJ (Super Multiple Joint). Now, there are two questions in my mind. either to strip both of the wires going to the pressure switch and connect one with ECU signal wire for PS Oil Pressure Switch and ground the other or the other option is to track down these two wires till the SMJ, which is kinda tough as it needs to draw the whole wiring out. :(. Stuck again. Just by the fact that the color if wires is confusing me.

to my knowledge & understanding any wire with dotted color coding means it is signal carrying wire other one solid color is power source

it would be best to trace the wire from the SMJ - if this were a carburettor car this switch would be grounding a vacuum solenoid in the engine bay, look for wire continuity in similar unplugged wiring, if you cant find this then you would need to backprobe the wiring to find the "signal" wire from the switch and connect it to the ECU wiring, the other wire in the switch wiring would be solid ground.

Happy tracing. I recently had a giant headache tracing some wires in a MB 140 chassis - and it came out to be incorrect placed pins in a socket (you have no idea how bad I wanted to beatup the guy who did it)

Ok G, Aaj Ki Karwai Office sey aney key baad.....

Since I have powered up my "Electric Load Signal Wire", I decided to wire it up with the Headlights, so that when headlights are on, engine maintains the idle or rise it accordingly.

So, started.

Ok G, placed the tools there for opening up the covers.

Ok, the grip is out. Here it is.

I was unable to figure out which were were behind it, so unpacking it a bit.

hmmm....revealed some of the wires.....here they are. Now, i have to check which wires are responsible for the headlights.

This is what happens of the original wiring/packing sadly. Though my car is 20 years old nearly, but still has its original wiring and things.

Here is the meter for testing.

Pulling out from its box.

starting and setting at 20 V point

Setting ground.

Testing wires, which are giving 12V signal when lighting switch is "on".

I tried checking with the grip on, but could not, so decided to open up the grip. I'm getting good at it.

so here it is.........

But unfortunately, this also did not work up, i could not somehow check the signals....so decided to cut the insulation of the wire.....to make a point of contact.

you dont need all 4 wires, just pick one which is routing 12V +ve when the main headlights are switched on, test the fuse box for continuity, the japanese wiring is usually main - switch - fuse - headlight. Most probably you will find an empty pin socket in the fuse box connector where you are supposed to pick up the signal.

the 4 wires would be 2 for headlights, one each, 1 for parking front and back, 1 for meter etc.

This is a general wiring system of Japanese cars except one manufacturer whose headlamp wiring is PITA

and to top the cake - both wires were brown, one was regulated ground and one was solid ground. This thing was buried under a jungle of other wiring that a W140 (old S class) has

still searching, it gets deep in the SMJ :(......
well, its very difficult to get to where SMJ is connected....but nonetheless....giving it half hour daily almost......
