Ive heard of those cars. They are doing what I just wrote, and it gets very dicey when they have to code a part.

e.g. to code a 7G tronic gearbox - the car has to call home in germany for the TCU to write. If the vin/serial is bad - forget about it.

Its not a hot swap either - physically the part will fit, it wont even shift to any gear in D if the TCU in gearbox is not coded.

What they are running is a "chop shop" - somehow its still legal in Pakistan as customs and excise are still stuck with "chachiss aur hinjann lumber" from the time of the raj.

How is it working then? If they have to code so many parts. For an AMG more than an engine and tranny are required

They do this with complete swap. From wiring to each and every electronic component installed. Only the chassis is different. On software it would reach c63 amg but physically shell is c200

so technically it is AMG but on papers and by the value it is C 200 or vice versa half botched

Brother i know someone who does all this. He sends Paki registered mercs to Dubai and convert into AMG's. Have u seen a 2008 c180 c63 black. That was converted.
As far as anybody wants an NCP c180. Call Arman motors or carskilla. They will deliver you at your place, then talk to some mechanic of a good workshop like jw in Isb or INH isb, they will exchange the parts. Or if you are too scared go to Swat.

Yup. In papers it will read 1600 or 1800 cc. And in real it would be V8 or V6 depending on what you have swapped. Same as all other swaps around the country. That's easy and any mechanic can do it so basically HPR or any high-end workshop claiming to specialize is BS. I bet mechanics at Quetta can do it in a day or less with their level of expertise 🤪.

And no one stops Merc on road to check for engine number verification unless its parha likha customs AC.

customs dont care for engine no. - they are ancient prehistoric relics and look for "chachiss" number, no matter if the chassis number belongs to a suzuki FX but the car is now a hummer H2

Engine is a machine, you are not stealing someone wife that you will get arrested for it. Engines wear out and they get changed. What matters is your car should be clean, duty paid.

Yes. But difference is 1800cc engine vs the 6200cc V8 AMG powerplant . I'd say the correct way is to update CC's with Motor Registration Authority and pay the required taxes.

Thats not important. You can install a jet engine in a car and drive it.
These are just pitty things you are mentioning. There are more important things that you can talk about.
An electric car has no cc. So why do we pay token tax on it or pay duty? See things work through a formal way. Everything is done according to the book.

If you are driving a merc, and your engine is changed and the daala stops u. They are going to ask you for its papers. If you show them the file, import docs, they will let u go right there and will just tell u to register your car if its not registered.

it is classified with power - if you want black and white binary laws then how can you claim that changing engine to any other type/size is perfectly ok.

so by that rationale, people should buy the weakest corolla brand new, bring it home, swap out for the largest engine and drive on - screw excise, meri gaari meri marzi??

Import documents of the car. NCP cars dont have port documents. Excise main concern is that the car's duty should be paid or else its illegal to drive an ncp car and thus will be confiscated.

They should. Hence people are already doing it. How many people in the US pay for the extra 50 HP or 150 HP?
How many people pay for the bore water they are utilizing since past 40 years in their houses without paying a penny?

The topic you people have started, it shows how jealous you people are from the ppl who swap their engines to enjoy their cars. Majority of the ppl who do this are very passionate abt cars but cannot afford new or very expensive rides so they swap and fullfill their dreams. That shouldnt bother you Zulfiqar and the other guy.

Let them enjoy. People who can afford simply sell their cars and step up to newer cars of their choice.. They dont get into swapping. Swapping is 98 percent done by the ppl who have 10 to 15 lacs budget.
