Ken, I am quite awake. You need to realize that we actually have civil rights here that are protected by the constitution. US government can’t stop anyone from leaving the US, unless they have committed a crime and a judge has forbidden them to leave the country till the trial is over. Other than that, I and everyone else is free to leave on our will.

riz_ is right my little scholars and scientists. Usually in America (usually not always), law is above all.

Now back to this topic, thanks jumbojet for putting it up. Good that some pakistani institute is on the rankings.

Most people here at least wont consider going there for 'higher' education. Mainly as the dominant idea people hold of pakistani educational system is 'cheat n pass'. Law n order is another issue.

If you didn't get the admission doesn't means that NUST rocks for the standard. If you would have been a son of someone in army they would have taken you in.
The most corrupt people, army, govern that university don't forget that.

^^ well, my younger brother got admission in this recent session. He is doing Masters in Electrical Engineering and No, we dont have anyone in army MashAllah he got admission on his own talent and competence!

i rate other institutes like Agha khan, Giki, FAST, Lums better than NUST!

where did FAST come from its the most pathetic university (so they call it) of Pakistan

in Engineering the most reputed institutions of Pakistan are UET,GIKI and NUST and nothing more

You cannot get in UET,GIKI or NUST by any means other than pure merit

the pathetic 3rd class universities like comsats,FAST,IQRA only want money pay them and you will get your degree,basically they are selling their degree if you have the money then u can get the degree

I think you cannot talk against UET and NUST now

By the way in pakistan is easy to get admission in masters than in bachelors. Because most of the graduates prefer to do master from abroad.

Another think I don't see the standard of FSC from Pakistan and UET/NED admissions are based on FSC percentage not on a test.

Universities that look for real merit are GIKI, AKU, LUMS, IBA and some more.

I am from SSUET, graduated in December 2007. At this time, more than 2/3 of my classmates are now pursuing their masters in top 100 universites abroad and some are doing jobs. Rest who are left behind are preparing for admissions abroad including me.
