Odo meter reversing

Thats true bro.
But i have seen some over smart mechanics as well,when they come to inspect they say engine sound is telling me that car has done approx 50k kms while the meter is showing 30k km so the odo meter must have been tampered previously !
How can you just comment so accurately on someone's vehicle from the engine sound is there any meter installed in your brain.. rubbish thing seriously ?
