Salam. Appologies for delay. I was away, on a short visit to Naran.

MANI MOG is not joining in the trip to Deosai. Two reasons: The Sound Proofing project has not yet started, and the speed is slower. When we consider long distances, both are a disadvantage. We will be covering around 3 to 4 hundred klicks before actually going off-road.

So, the answer is a very sad NO.

We left Manshera, late in the evening. Around 10 pm, reached Naran at 3 in the morning.
We thought we had the road all to ourselves, but of course we were wrong: there were other 4x4's, albeit horses.
Well, the journey was very comfortable.

One of the jeeps, KZJ 78 had problem with the 4 WD, and we used local technical help that, instead of helping, complicated the matter, and actually we had to drive the vehicle in 2 WD for the whole trip. What a waste!

We reached Naran late in the night, or early morning, depends on how you put it. We actually slept after the Fajr Prayer.
We spent the day coursing here and there, and got our 94 Prado stuck in one of the glaciers.
The Pajero io, a mix b/w a fully grown and a mini, was actually marvelous over the glacier, and literally turned circles around the local jeeps there!

Anyway, finding it hard to pull across the Prado, we turned around, and headed for our next destination, LALAZAR.

The track leading up to Lalazar was marvelous. We had to hire a local jeep because of 2 WD condition on one of our vehicles. We had left one vehicle at Naran, and nobody was willing to go back and bring that one.
Well, the Pajero io was again good. It got heated up but that was acceptable.

And we had to pull through with all our might.
The ditch was not very deep, but still beyond the limits of the small jeep with relatively smaller tyres.

We were really worried !!!!
and we even contemplated the use of other 4 x 4's locally available !!
Thanks got the vehicle got unstuck, and the trip resumed its relentless pursuit of nature !

Although we were unable to track from LalaZar to Saif ul Muluk, because of the snow, not to mention the weight of the Chairman, but still we enjoyed walking around like anything !

we stopped frequently on the way back, and relaxed.
All in all, not a bad trip

Spring Brings Pleasure. Kids Like Splashing in water. (Me too !)
Well, this time, we went in MOG.
The party got ready and boarded, and we went to HARNO.
On our way, just to impress the kids, we DID NOT follow any track, just zoomed across the terrain.
Fantastic !

But, while on our way, we went through the Baragali University Campus, and passed right through- there are beautiful picnic spots

There is a beautiful Bar-B-Q spot, and we decided to take our unimog up there. Not dangerous at all, and it is the same point from where the earlier picture was taken.
Of course, the Mog needed Four Wheel Drive for the climb.
and I could only manage in my third attempt, after engaging the diff locks, because the wheel spin was causing concern. I did not want to slide side ways.

and so did I, for a different reason.
The Mog is proving again and again that it is reasonably capable, in an affordable price!
