Dear All.......
It is an opportunity to respond to Dr. JBK's post, and clarify the current situation at OFF-ROADERS UNLIMITED, ABBOTTABAD.
It is not a controversial issue that we need to improve on regularity and quality of our off-road activities. That is probably one of the reasons some of our members have lost their contact with the group totally. It is not a good omen.
However we try, it is difficult to manage our members. I suppose the main reason is that only a few of us are really interested to pursue our interest in off-roading: the rest are mainly interested in 'programs,' and not in off-roading. We have attempted many a times to arrange moots, and end of the day, my old Unimog and Austin were left 'alone,' with many of our close friends having commitments elsewhere, that definitely were more pressing (not sarcastic: really more important). So, slowly over the said period, our interest in proper off-roading is dwindling....
Many of our friends have vehicles that although classed as SUVs and Off-roaders, are so expensive and well-kept, that convincing those friends to bring these rigs up off the beaten track is difficult. If JBK is really interested, we will give it a go, and will announce an activity in the next couple of weeks, and see how the group responds.... I hope we have a good response. Just after Eid, we had almost announced a major expedition, but we postponed it because of weather, and because me and Irshad were left to proceed....anyway, let me consult with Irshad and the other members, and shall announce something shortly...
No hard feelings, though a lot need to be improved, including leading from the front.. that is me.
