Off-Season Visit to Ratti Gali Lake(2-6 October 2013)

After traveling for 30-40 minutes I came to another fork in the road..... It was again another Domail. From my memory I was sure that the Ratti Gali lake is on the right side valley. While the larger stream was coming from the left side valley. So I decided to reach the middle small hill and then wait for the porters to arrive so that they can tell me about my path. I had to wait for almost 30 minutes for the nearest team to reach me.

and yes I was correct. I had to take the right turn to reach the lake.... I reached this point in roughly 90 minutes from our base camp and then I had to wait for another 30 minutes for some other members to arrive.

Yes this leads to the Ratti Gali lake.....

I think this valley(The left side one) leads to Ratti Gali pass and then to either Noori top or Burawai? Again any experts/gurus to shed some light....

And what about the difficulty level of this bypass?

its easy... a short climb.... only issue is that an imideate asend mite cause cramps so warm up a litle

After staying at that place for 30-40 minutes we moved towards the right side valley along the now very small Ratti Gali stream. After crossing it we saw the following waterfall and we all thought that yes we have reached the lake. This is the outlet of the lake. Just climb the small hill and we are on the lake!!!!

After ascending the small hill the we were faced with following scenery....and then we came to know that this place is called Base Camp of Ratti Gali lake..... Most of the people usually camp here....

It was quite an ascend... It took me almost 20-30 minutes to reach the lake from this point but some others took as long as 90 minutes to reach the lake from this point.

Gained quite a bit of altitude and looking back towards the base camp....

and then I saw a small lake in the base camp meadows... Don't know it's name but I think it must be called small Ratti Gali lake or small Doarian lake....

On our way back we reached near the banks of this small lake...

Can anyone tell me why the color of this lake is so bluish? I have not done photoshoping but this is the original color of the lake....

After the right turn the first settlement we reached was called "Mansehra" by local people....

The place ahead is called Domail. Here two streams meet. The right side one is coming from Ratti Gali while the left side one (which is also bigger) might be coming from some unknown lake/glacier. The local porters had no information what so ever. Maybe some gurus here do know about it? @aesiege @emmaar any one?

The left side valley ends at high altitude passes. One pass is straight and ends up on Burwai - Ratti Gali trek and one pass is on left and joins the valley of Patlian Lake which eventually descends to Lawat in Neelum Valley.

When u go ahead, there is another domail. Go straight or can say right and it takes u to Dowarian Pass towards Nuri Top and go left and it takes u to Ratti Gali Pass to Burwai.

Its really dangerous patch. I did not hear about this landslide before. Is this new or u mistakenly reached in this slide.?
