Oil Filter
A toyota oil filter is also gud but costs around rs.600-650, while a guard/Lippon/ may cost around Rs.100-150

Air filter,

i dont think ull be able to find the orignal toyota one, if u do it costs around 750-1000 But its worth it.

Other then that a Malaysian filter is avalible thats around Rs350-450,
In local brands Gurad is the best costs around Rs250-300

What about cost.

Someone told me that Guard Company has its stall at METRO Cash & Carry where they office Guard Oil with Free Guard Air Filter. Have you heard about it?

Dont go for such offers, a air filter is just about rs100, im not sure about the Zics cost.

PS: Lippon Oil filters are a malaysia brand they arent local.

We all Pakistani should Promote Local Manufactured Pakistani Items,Ill Recommend Guard Oil&Air Filter....Guard products are good&reliable and most important made in Pakistan..

The quality of the product must come first rather than patriotism. That is how manufacturing in a country improves, not by keeping outdated products force fed to a captive market supported by corruption at all levels of government and business.

Please let me start by saying that I also repect your opinions and love Pakistan.

First of all, the USA markets rewards the quality of the product, and that is why local names like GM and Ford are in trouble.

Secondly, I have used Guard products and their quality is marginal at best, when compared to other quality filters. In oil filters, the end caps are cardboard, and the drain back valves are either non-existent or non-functional.

Have you compared the internal quality of Guard filters compared to other manufacturers? I hope that you are able to provide cutouts of Guard filters and other filters on the market so that everybody can see the quality comparison for themselves.

I'm going to have to agree with Vcheng, we should not support any local brands and companies if they are offering an inferior products (like suzuki, honda and toyota). Guard is offering a "budget" filter which isn't actually that bad but the problem is that even they (being such a huge company) are experiencing alot of fake products in the market which is ruining their name and their products are inconsistent in terms of quality.

I've used guard filters in my cars over the years and their products are inconsistent, sometimes they are very good, sometimes they don't even work. Maybe i've also fallen victim to fakes (very likely) but now i'm willing to pay a little more for a guaranteed quality item (like the brands i mentioned above) rather than to be blindly patriotic and buy something which isn't guaranteed to perform as it should.

if guard can improve their quality control and stop fakes, then guard will for sure be a MUCH better alternative.

If you can afford it, and you want to keep your car a long time, just stick with OEM Toyota filters for your car, both Air and Oil, and change on time with a good quality oil like Zic, Toyota or Petromin.
