Update: searched a bit online using a top secret website called "Google". It showed up results and I consulted a paid for agent who showed me a place called "Hyundai Forums". Here is some info;

Many people, myself included, have complained about the cold start noise the car makes. I was told last spring that it was the OCV (oil control valve) and that the sound was pretty common. Its much quieter now, but still present when the car is cold.

Here is the real issue. Car makes a ticking, knocking noise when idling even after being warmed up. Don't say its normal, injector noise. I use to build engines and af_placement_id--[AFF-PLACEMENT-ID].html"]injector noise is a clicking not a loud ticking noise on pass side of _afplacement_id--[AFF-PLACEMENT-ID].html"]timing cover. Can clearly hear and almost feel where it is coming from. I read posts that say it is lifters and thats normal. Not buying it. My question is has anyone been able to get this issue resolved and what did they do for it. Also, have the whine at start up. I know timing belt but no other car makers do it why Hyundai. And yes I know it has a long warranty but thats a inconvenience and car sounds like junk when it is brand new.

Not sure. If the grades match the same as in your manual, then probably yes. As you said, you were facing problems at start up, could that be because of the oil? Was the company oil synthetic, mineral or what? Castrol is a good company btw:)

My Elantra 2014 has gone for a 2nd oil change, i took Castrol GTX Professional 10W-30 + OEM filter. Both purchased from Hyundai. But after oil change, i am not satisfied with cold engine start sound kar kar. Oil light goes off on time as it should go off after start, but sound is not as it was before as it warms up, as it gets normal, sound goes off. Please note that I didn't went through proper inspection at 10,000km because they keep car for almost a day and I am busy with my job. Car is doing exceptionally well, but I am worried on start up sound. I used car after oil change almost 120km. Please note that after buying oil and filter from Hyundai, i have changed it out of company, but as they advised. No leaks and stays exactly on maximum mark every morning.

Brother I would recommend Castrol Edge Professional 0W-30 with A5 certification.

10/30 oil is almost out (from Pak. market).
Only Toyota has imported huge stock and pushing their consumers to use 10/30 oil. Whereas this oil has almost lost the market.

Using 10w oil for brand new car is not good choice either.

0/30 would be the best choice.
Try to find LM's 0/30. Because among all the available oils of LM, 0/30 is most high performance oil after 0/40.
Castrol 0/30 is also good.

If that noise was because of engine oil, then I hope using 0/30 oil would eliminate it and will give extra ordinary better performance too.
CI as 8~10K would be fine depending upon oil condition, your driving style, etc.

firstly get the cam variator changed from the dealer. Its a known fault and some dealers are changing them under warranty as early as 15000 kms.

Yes I know and that’s why I recommended him the oils which are not available in Pak. either.
LM Pakistan don't have 0/30 & 0/40 in Pak. but am sure it will be available in KSA.

the issue with the kia/hyundai engines in that car is noisy cam variator, its a known fault and many cars have had it replaced, its not cheap either.

It would be better to first get the problem solved.
