OIL leak, Please Guide

So once again, They called me today, saying ur issue of oil leak is definetly covered under warranty, We are ordering the part, And would update you and call you for an apointment.

And kept saying that sir you should get 5000kms maintainence periodicaly so please get that also done once your car is coming for maintainence bla bla, Altho i only want to get the Oil issue resolved and get out of the workshop.

Now my father feels they might mess up sumthing else

ask them that why are they sooooooo pressing on 5000 kms inspection, are there cars so badly made that they need a checkup every other oil change.

Tell them that Toyota even in African countries do not do that. And I doubt its the main seal, because if it was then the leak would have been collosal, There is always considerable oil pressure behind that main oil seal, This looks like something else, But you should not care or worry because the car is under warranty, and if they try to weasel out of a deal - rub it in their face, contact the manufacturer and if they try to weasel out (had it happen with me) contact Japan, SIMPLES - hamaray loag danda ki zabaan jaante hain..

I have done it dozens of times, These dealerships are such scumbags that they expect the customer to be dumbass millionaire and try to rip pockets.

^ My dads reluctant saying they might mess up the car, Altho i some how convinced him, That its covered under waranty and vl get everything fixed free of charge, I showed it to my mechanic @manzoor bhae in dha aswell, thats where i take my cars usualy, They also checked the oil leak, confirming the "mainseal", But lets see what comes next waiting for my next apointment.

I wanted to contact the Toyota Japan on the first place, But online the link went to Toyota Global thats a USA website, Hence i tried the Indus's website first, the replies came possitive. Im looking forward for a positive job aswell or else ur right "danda is zaroori"

PS: Is it safe to drive the car normally? Till gets fixed?

Got my claim today, they reinspected the car saying that we didnt give any official report, 1 hour wasted, but the CR people were realy "aggei peeche", The guy who gave me the Rs.9000 bill was also, "kese hain sir, theek hain sir,"

The CR lady came visiting the workshop area, and called me twice etc etc, But the bottom line is got my claim, i might get the car today evening or tomorow mid-day, Lets see how does it goes.

Hoping for the bestest possible outcome.

Issue resolved, Got my car around 6pm, Il get the car washed properly tomorw and then check for the outcome.

The bill that came in my hand was about Rs.6050, This bill did not include the price of the main seal, "according to them the part was provided by Indus Motors.

The labour bill also be paid by Indus Motors i was only signing it,.

I did had khuari, but im glad my issue was taken care of and i had regular follow ups, The CR lady was with me the whole time i was at the workshop. And deliverd the car courteously.

In the end at 6pm, the advisor came to me, Sir manager apse milna cha rae hain, he came and started, periodic maintaince, periodic maintainence bla bla, and that 90 % cars here are regular periodic maintainence cars and 10% complains.

btw done the 15k service of my car today:D
oi/filter change
general checkup aka tigthening of nut bolts etc

I have noted one thing that brake oil was lil bit reduced from the Full sign , it was more than half but less than full , I asked the foreman and according to him its normal and he said they will do brake service on 20k n it will get back to full again. didnt get the joke :S
btw no prob in braking but still do u think its normal?

Glad you got the issue resolved.

I think they were trying to get you to pay for the things that are covered by warranty. Then they would also claim it under warranty from the company, thus making double the money.

Most dealerships are completely unscrupulous. You have to give them keep showing them 'company danda' so they behave.

@dms, Its normal dont worry :), Any ideas what did they do? They very much were angry for not bringing in my car for the 10k maintainence thats around 10-12k, (I kept saying in my heart jee jee, Chabi dein aur dafa hojain.)

-tune up
-brake service
-Fuel injectors cleaning
and God knows what not.

Finaly sir gari wese bhari chal rae hai, I just came after a round up.

@whiteangel, Yup thats how it works, my bad i should have had taken a copy of the bill for my record.

This is a sticker they pasted after the first free inspection on my car door and they strictly follow it .
on 15 k oil changed ,4 ltr petron 20w50(2000 PKR prev it was 1800)
oil filter changed, (800 PKR)
air filter cleaned by blowing air through it
jacked up vehicle and checked for any loose bolts etc and tighten those which were loose (PKR 350)
Service charges for oil /filter change PKR 80

Total: 3230

But it is not nec to accept everything they offer like on 10k I asked them to skip alignment and balancing as there was no prob in it and I was of the view that they will mess it up , however tire rotation was done.

and now in sha Allah on the coming 20k I am planning to skip spark plugs replacement as I have put in iradium ones on 7k reading on odo so no need to replace them on 20k.

IMO this sticker is reasonable one and doesnt include the shashkas like injector cleaner and THE MANY THINGS WHICH THEY TELL YOU VERBELLY, so get it printed and follow it , dont listen to what they tell/offer on the spot.

^ Toyota Central motors karachi has packages from light/medium/heavy maintainence. And they charge accordingly.

The price difference is for Coure/Camry/Corolla,

But yes ur right if we get the things done as we like, Prices should be different.

Tell the manager to put an egg in his shoe and beat it. He cannot coax you into spending money because that is your choice - if he has authorization to fix the leak fix it and SHUT UP. If they want to do maintenance, ask him to put the car on a lift and show you why such maintenance is required at this point of time. Look at the wear parts yourself and make him explain why its needed.

Its called standard practice.

For once i do feel Liana was a blessing, We got 2 years free maintainence and registration with it, A friend even got a 29'' Sony TV

Free maintainence came with free oil changes, free filters, that meant we had to pay nothing till 50,000kms maintainence,

But paid for for thoose coils , (electronics not covered)
