Oil Leakage Near Oil Sump/Tray

Dear All,

Lately, I have been noticing Oil patch underneath engine hood (Approx One Drop Every 12 hours usually when engine is cold). Upon inspecting, I found that it is coming from near oil sump. I visited mechanic, he told me that instead it is coming from the Timings Seal or something. He removed the right front tyre, removed the dirt guard installed new seal and replaced the belt as it was worn out too.

After two days I noticed oil coming out of same place again, he told me now he will have to remove entire timing cover to see where oil is coming out from. He is quoting 7K Only for the labor.

It started to happen when I got engine oil replaced with 10W40 Valvoline.

Yep. He is not sure where this leak is coming out of he is just doing hit and trial that entire timing side will need to be disammbled then he will check where leak is coming out from.

Update: I got steering fluid replaced which was red in color previous one was golden whereas engine oil color is golden too.

While the droplet was formed and about to fall onto the ground from oil sump I used white tissue to wipe it off and guess what?? It was STEERING fluid after spending enormous money on getting timing related seals replaced. Lesson learned once again, never trust any mechanic.

Point of posting update here that some might or are facing the same issue so it might be beneficial for them.
