I think you should sell it as it is... getting it fixed will cost you more than the current worth of the car.

You know your car inside out calculate repair cost and than decide some people will tell you repaur will cost you more but you might end up buying a car that needs work too no matter how clean car looks seller lies about car condition

thanks for the reply, as i said, my father used to drive it, and as per him engine wise it is in good condition, all this wear n tear is exterior, i haven't drove car in pak, neither do i know any reliable person who could give me a unbias estimate, thats why i asked pakwheelers.

so just looking for some rough estimates from experienced pakwheelers.

Well to be honest with you, as you mentioned that its a '96 '98 model and by the looks of it, body is heavily rusted and require extensive repair work, my guess is if you get any thing close to a 100 grand you will be lucky. Then again its my guess so don't mind.

Get it repaired/restored full. 25-35k for engine 10-15k for suspension 20-30k for interior nd exterior... means arround 70-80k odd is repairing cost. It'd be ready for domestic use.... better not to sell.. ghar k use k liye best hy

well as i said earlier, only my father used to drive it, and now he have wagon-r, so its just parked out side... and mehran's hard steering is really hard for an old man who get used to of butter smooth steering of wagon-r. initially i was more inclined to sell it, but i created this thread to see how good other option can work for me, appreciate your input

Just concider it as a car costing less than 200k. Giving service of atleast 500k.
No issue in investing an hour daily at workshop. For 2 weeks max.. to get profit of 2-3 lacs.

brother car engine was good but you said yourself its been parked idle for 2 yaers outside your house....i dont think oil would have been changed what to speak of filters/spark plugs/etc.

standing outside in cold and extreme heat what will be condition of wiring you can better imagine.

with that in mind do you think its a good idea to restore the vehicle.

keep in mind that "hand off" to restore is a bad idea. you have to be there daily to supervise each thing. otherwise your bill will be twice cars value and you will end up with a poor job

also how much rust is there... you do know thin quality of mehran, rust wont be permanently fixed, many mechanics will simply paint over for fresh look..

keep all factors in mind.

if you do decide to go for restore, supervise the job daily otherwise you will be disappointed.

is condition mae you will not be able to fetch much price if you were to get it restored you may be able to fetch some decent amount but not in this condition

if its token are clear maximum it can fetch 80k.
if repaired wisely a 100k is must.
and again it will sell in 180 k maxium.
its restored already once so its inner is not genuine at all.
