I'm back with another episode...
Day 4
The temperature today is a nice sunny 28°. We came down for naashta and had the usual scrambled eggs with brown toast and coffee. In addition, had some stir-fried mix vegetables and some glass noodles with vegetables and eggs (Thai version of our siwainyaan) and some fresh fruit. Disappointed there was no papaya today. Guess we will need to get some from the street hawker who parks outside our Soi 21 alley.
Our plan for today? Well we decided to take it easy…some stayed back to rest while I explored the neighborhood.
We regrouped at around 6pm and decided to visit the authentic Thai halal food we had pulled up in our google search. This meant hopping on to a BTS skytrain from Asok to Siam Centre and a quick march to MBK Centre. The restaurant is called YANA and is located on the fifth floor of MBK Centre, a mall known for electronics and gadgets.
Reached MBK and found our way to the Yana restaurant and shukar Alhamdolillah the experience exceeded our expectation. Authentic Thai food we knew we could relish without any worries as it was halal. Ordered several dishes from starters to mains and ching, ching...ahaan arroi maak (really, the food is very tasty)!
Took some photos as well so as to not disappoint you.
After dinner, we decided to explore the mall and spent some time window-shopping and the ladies decided that shopping will now only be at Platinum Mall Pratunam. Main khamosh raha...phir jana parhega Pratunam. Anything for the ghar ki khawateen. In sha Allah!
This time I had bought the tickets for the return sky train ride as well so didn’t waste any time...walked over to Silom BTS station using the walkway and got on the skytrain. I must say, Bangkok has made life easy for its residents and tourist alike. Everything is so accessible and interlinked. Connected walkways, interchange station for overhead and underground and road transport...everything is so seamless, you cannot go without praising the Thai system. Very impressive indeed!
When we reached Asok and disembarked from the train we had three choices, take the metro (which is connected as Asok is an interchange station), walk the 15 minutes or so back or... take a tuk tuk...to awam ka purjosh iqrar pur ...jee haan! Tuk tuk ki sair karengay aur hum tuk tuk main sawar ho gai! Takreeban adhey say kum time main hum hotel pohonch gai aur nusqa sirf bht100 ka...frankly I was too tired to haggle. Aik our nai cheez azmali Allah swt kay fazal o karam say!
